ROLE : Senior Software Architect

LOCATION : Chennai

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE : 10-16 years

QUALIFICATIONS :

- 2-year Masters or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree (with additional years of professional experience) in Computer Science or related fields

REPORTING TO : Associate Director – Analytics

- To work with senior System Analysts, System Designers/Developers and ETL Developers to design and develop database structures required for supporting statistical tools, predictivemodels, and rules based analytical modeling systems.

- The primary efforts associated with this engagement will be to utilize systems and tools provided with InfoSphere Warehouse (Advanced Enterprise Edition) to create data stores for use by Cognos, SPSS (Predictive Modeling software) and ILOG JRules/WODM (Rule Engine).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

A Senior Software Architect will be responsible for:

- Using InfoSphere Warehouse (Advanced Enterprise Edition), Design and develop new database systems.

- Assist with architecting the database for migrating existing data structures in Excel to DB2

- Work with setting up the logical data model for the project to support various analytical modeling needs and implementing physical tables

- Develop the ETL process and code for data load from the existing data warehouse

- Work with System Analysts, ETL Developers, System Designers/Developers to create an optimal data storage schema which provides the right balance of speed vs. storage efficiency given the system requirements.

- Driving effective Change Management for a stable & consistent delivery – Zero surprise operations.

STRATEGIC INPUTS / SKILLS REQUIRED :

- Significant experience with DB2. Preferable later version 9.x

- Experience with DB2 Database Partitioning

- Experience with InfoSphere Data Architect

- Strong experience with relational and dimensional modeling

- Strong data analysis skills and experience with metadata management

- Strong SQL development

- Experience in creating logical data models and physical data models using various tools

- Knowledge of principles, techniques and best practices of data governance and master data management

- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle

- Customer oriented

- Ability to communicate well with the business and conduct requirement analysis

- Ability to work well in a team environment with a geographically dispersed team

- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

- Dedicated to completing assigned tasks and delivering high quality software under deadline

- Ability to learn and apply new technologies and programming languages as required

- Highly motivated to develop mortgage business knowledge

OTHER REQUIREMENTS :

- Experience in DB2 & DB2 – SQL is essential

- Experience in Project Management

- Experience in people management
