Position Title - Sr. Manager – BI Requirements (Functional role)

Department - Strategy, Information & Performance

Grade - Sr.Manager

Location - Mumbai

Minimum-6 yrs in General Insurance -(Domain)

Business Intelligence Analysis & space.

Reporting To - AVP – Data Quality & Business Intelligence

Reported By - None

Atleast 7-10 Years of relevant experience in general insurance Industry or in a Consulting role for GI companies and worked in the reporting and analysis space.

Business Analyst would be Considered with the Exposure of Business Intelligence in General Insurance.

No Life Insurance preferred

As part of the Information Management Strategy one of the initiatives planned for 2013 – 2014 is to set up a centralized Business Intelligence team who will cater to all organizational reporting requirements and eliminate any reporting gaps.

The person in this role would work with business departments towards achieving the above mentioned objective

Key Responsibilities:

1) Carry complete responsibility for visualising and documenting end to end reporting requirements of business departments which meet their needs and specifications.

2) Based on business and other department broad needs, develop detailed reporting templates and gain acceptance from the business departments. Visualise reports that may have not been requested by the business departments and initiate efforts to persuade the departments to build these reports

3) Understand the existing reporting platform and gain complete understanding on the reports that have been delivered and the ones which are planned for future delivery.

4) Proactively identify reporting gaps due to departmental perspective that need to be closed through development of new reports or modification of existing reports

5) Work independently to suggest probable areas of investigation and conduct fact based research and analysis on business processes and the data produced from these processes and advise your Supervisor/Department Head on significant business problems & solutions

6) Support and guide junior resources in day to day work and develop knowledge and skills in reporting area.

Technical Skills:

Insurance Product & Process Knowledge:

Has complete knowledge of insurance products and processes. Have an end to end view of reports being used by business departments Understands the contents and implications of reports that get developed. Has a good knowledge of the most common reports that exist in general insurance industry information contained therein and their purpose. Able to convert broad specs into detailed reports of departments

Requirements Documentation:Has extensive experience on documentation of reporting requirements.

BI Tool Knowledge: Has knowledge on how BI tools work and has experience of setting up reports on BI applications.

Stakeholder Management - Should be able to interact with business, gather requirements, deliver message and manage expectations.

Goals Achievement - Ability to work and manage deadlines at a fast pace and under pressure. Comfort with ambiguity, changing requirements, and limited resources or information.
