The role is for a ""MISSION MANAGER"" within Market Intelligence team. The scope of work covers all countries in AMI region (Africa, Middle east, India). The Mission Manager is expected to be the nerve centre of the entire MI team. His job is to manage progress of multiple jobs happening across the AMI region. In addition to managing timelines, he is expected to be one-point liaison for other support functions like Finance, Purchase and Tax teams.
The Mission Manager is not expected to get into the technical details of each project, but is responsible for having an overall view and troubleshoot any non-technical issues. Although the Mission Manager will not have direct reportees, each local MI team located in each regional business unit (South Africa, UAE, India and Egypt) are accountable to the Mission Manager for overall management of each survey activity.
Although technical knowledge / background of MI is not mandatory for this role, a quick learning mindset will be helpful in smooth day-to-day functioning. And he is expected to have (or quickly develop) enough working knowledge of processes, protocols and systems. As he will be directly responsible for setting the standard operating procedure for all MI related work in AMI from FY15.

- Overall timeline management of each ad-hoc survey, milestone, periodic and regular surveys for AMI region
- Overall process development, implementation and management of finance related tasks like budget management, provisions, payments and tax related tasks
- Development of MI dedicated DOA (delegation of authority) processes for decision making
- Development and standardization of processes related to survey purchase, negotiation and close working with purchase departments
- Constant focus on improving time and cost efficiency
