Urgent Opening for Senior Manager in Life Sciences

Job Description

- Management Consulting professionals focus on strategy and take responsibility for organizational change and business transformation. The India Management Consulting practice has traditionally been focused on providing consulting solutions to domestic clients. This practice is now being grown aggressively with a mandate to service clients in the overseas markets. The primary geographic focus for this role will be the overseas market.

The Life Sciences industry group works with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical products and other companies across the life-sciences value chain, providing services such as large-scale business and technology transformation, targeted business performance improvement, and post-merger integration.

Our key areas of focus include research and development, supply chain, manufacturing, marketing and sales, and select back-office functions. Additionally, we operate life sciences-specific business process and IT outsourcing services across all geographies in the global industry

We work for large, high-profile clients and develop strong lasting relationships with them. On average, we have been maintaining client relationship on an average of 10 years. Our clients represent 70% of the Products companies in the Fortune 500. Our clients include 21 of the 26 health care, pharmaceutical, and health care wholesale companies in the FORTUNE Global 500.

Key responsibilities of the role may include:

- Business Development: Developing and maintaining contact with top decision makers at key clients, organizing and leading pursuit teams, participating and leading aspects of the proposal development process.

- People Development: Performing the role of counselor and coach, providing input and guidance into the firms staffing process, and actively participates in staff recruitment and retention activities.

- Engagement Management: Managing engagement risk, project economics including planning and budgeting, managing account receivables, defining deliverable content, ensuring buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client.

- Domain Development: Development of assets and methodologies, development of point-of-view, research or white papers, support development of marketing collateral, public speaking and publication in industry periodicals.

Experience:

- Minimum 10 years of progressive business and consulting experience. Global consulting experience is preferred.

- Preferably worked in an international context servicing clients or worked internationally

- Should have worked in the Life sciences space and done work around Product Management, Brand Management, Channel & Distribution strategy, Channel optimization, Sales strategy & operations, Sales process & functional design and other similar functions (Multi area exposure is preferred)

- Should have an excellent, established track record for selling & delivering consulting engagements.

- Experience working with “C” level executive clients

- Should have an MBA from a Tier 1 B School. MBA from an international B School is preferred.

- Should have managed teams and delivery

- Should possess strong program management skills

Key Competencies and Characteristics:

- This individual must be comfortable working at the highest levels of client organizations and interacting closely with the “C” level executives in a range of environments

- The individual should be comfortable functioning in a broadly positioned and highly diverse consulting firm

- The individual should possess an impressive executive demeanor, a team oriented and collaborative approach, and excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities

- The individual should have demonstrated entrepreneurial instinct

- The individual should possess and demonstrate high integrity and credibility as perceived by all those with whom s/he will work

- The individual should have strong intellect coupled with proficient commercial instincts

- The individual should be diplomatic, flexible, and have a good team approach.

- The individual must be a self starter, someone who has led teams, has strong conceptual and inter-personal skills.
