Essential for Role - Total experience of 6-10 years or more with atleast 5 years in Corporate Legal Function.
Additional exposure in Law Firm /Insurance Industry preferred.
- Drafting of business agreements (all internal departments as customers), contract management and legal risk management. Negotiation, drafting and implementation of branch property agreements, miscellaneous and routine agreements, setting up and writing Legal Manuals, Representation before GBIC / Ombudsmen on need basis etc.
- Litigation handling enterprise wise (Corporate and Consumer Court matters). Managing litigation with team of dedicated Advocates under personal supervision. Drafting replies to Legal Notices, advise to internal departments on legal issues.
- Responsible for due diligence of office premises before taking on lease pan India basis, managing the function with team of dedicated Advocates under personal supervision. Drafting and vetting agreements for various functions (Operations, Underwriting, Actuarial, Sales Hiring, HR Agreements etc). Supporting grievance handling process.
- Drafting and vetting policy documents, proposal forms, agency terms and conditions, corporate agency agreements and other intermediary agreements.
- Assisting in dealing with laws applicable to a General Insurance Company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Legal
- Assist the Head-Legal in discharging functions of a Legal department.
- Assist internal departments in finalising Agreements/documentation.
- Contract Management and documentation.
- Managing timely responses to Legal Notices/Ombudsman matters/consumer Court matters and other litigations faced by the Company.
- Compliance with tendering / bidding / CVC guidelines / Commercial contracts
- Compliance with Labour Laws
PROCESS
- To set up systems, manuals and processes to run an efficient compliance & legal function.
CUSTOMER
- Build network with internal customers within the organization.
- Ensure internal customer satisfaction by providing quality and timely feedback / response.
KEY CRITICAL COMPETENCIES
Self Motivation, willing to work independently, conversant with Insurance Laws and Procedures, grievance handling with regulatory viewpoint and insight. Ability to independently handle Legal affairs of a Company.
