Position Summary
- Our Client is seeking an energetic, highly-motivated lawyer to join their Law team. This individual will provide legal advice and counsel on matters of Indian law to the client's India businesses. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams composed of members based in Bangalore and Minneapolis.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Advisory and Training
- Provide legal advice to India clients on key areas such as contracts, corporate laws, real estate laws, IT laws, and intellectual property laws;
- Monitor and analyze proposed and enacted state and federal laws and regulations to ensure corporate compliance; and monitor evolving legal trends to identify potential business implications.
- Develop and implement client training, playbooks, FAQs in the relevant areas of law or policies such as intellectual property, contracts, information protection, and business conduct.
Contracts
- Draft and negotiate technology contracts and other business related and real estate contracts for the company's India businesses.
- Assist with operations and implement best practices
- Identify and evaluate for implementation in India, the industry best practices in areas including contract drafting, compliance and document retention;
- Establish and maintain clear communication and grow relationships between HQ Law Department, business clients, and the India law team regarding key initiatives, project scope, timelines, issue resolution, and deliverables.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Law degree from a recognized law school in India.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated maturity of judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to find innovative solutions to complex issues.
- Strong initiative and follow-through.
- Ability to build trust and leadership amongst the India businesses supported by the Law team.
- Flexibility to adapt to a constantly changing environment; capable of juggling multiple demands while maintaining good client relationships and providing prompt legal service.
Desired Requirements:
- Experience in usage of tools like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Westlaw.
- Knowledge/experience in intellectual property laws, real estate law and project management will be an added advantage.
