Job Description

- Create a highly effective merchandizing team and develop the team members (assistants and Junior Merchandisers)

- Thought leadership on digital merchandizing, lead and assist GTM (go-to-market) strategies including product planning and management, timeline, site merchandizing placements, navigation, site search, analytics that are required and customer experience.

- Participate in seasonal product reviews and influence product team at category level based on competitor and seasonal product strategy.

- Review and analyse previous season’s performance and their strategies and provide action plan for upcoming season. The plans shall cover the vision and financial goals of the company.

- Create seasonal markdown planning documents and collate proposals for review with HoM (Head of Merchandising / Head of Marketing)

- Create seasonal and promotional sales and markdown strategies to achieve department KPI's

- Create and execute seasonal merchandising calendars, focus on product assortment, deliver a digital shopping experience that maximizes customer satisfaction and drive sales.

- Pro-actively manage and control departments in line with business plans to minimise risks and maximise opportunities for monthly and seasonal KPIs.

- Update and Collate Total Company Seasonal Sales Plans and OTB (Open to buy); review with HoM

- Manage intake (new inventory) flow into business to hit monthly forecasts, drive sales and minimise risks

- Review and present in season stock opportunities and risks in line with forecasts to maximise sales and reduce stocks, i.e. OTB management, recodes and cancellations, SOR (sale or return) etc.

- Work closely with HoM to create seasonal packs and suggest in season tactical actions to ensure departments hit KPIs – Financial budgets for sales, sell through and closing stock.

- Working with product management and sales team to co-ordinate uploads in line with sales budgets / re-forecasts

- Work with HoM to establish best practice for Merchandise Plan and interact with other teams to improve seasonal performance and drive best practices

- Review WSSI (Weekly sales, stock and Intake), reforecast forward week’s sales, Stock, and OTB.

- Provide weekly / monthly summary of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within departments of responsibility, relating to sales, stock, profit, and markdown versus budget/last year and review with HoM.

- Key contact for analysis and provide analysis and summary of Markdown and Promotional activity for departments of responsibility;

- Review and input to the exit strategy for each product and ensure consistency of approach with corporate product direction.

- Review pricing opportunities on a regular basis, looking at competitors and communicate to corporate product teams.

- Review ‘fast sell information’ and ‘end of season sales’ analysis.

- Contribute strategic insights & forward thinking ideas to evolve the vision of the program. Own how our digital channels engage visitors / customers and give them unique reasons to buy through smart and innovative showcasing of our products and offers.

Desired Skills & Experience

- Strong merchandizing / buying experience

- Very good business and fashion sense

- Strong analytical and co-ordination skills

- Eye for detail and organization as well as the ability to focus on the “big picture”

- Must be flexible and possess the ability to balance the management of multiple projects simultaneously

- Ability to lead team and make decisions
