About Our Client

For an international company with its set-up in India in Gurgaon, we are currently looking out for a Senior Legal Master. Because of the confidentiality of the search more information about the company will be shared during a personal interview once selected.

Job Description

In a first phase your main responsibility is to work on the litigation part for one specific case. You will be liaising directly with the Group General Counsel in the home country and the Managing Director for India. Your role will be to determine the strategy, initiate, review and liaise with the external consultants. In a second phase you will also be involved in the commercial litigation and support the management in determining the strategy. Your main responsibilities will be:

- To provide high quality litigation advice to senior management on litigation issues, strategy and risk management in cases and projects;

- 60% of your time you will be working on corporate litigation, 35% on commercial litigation and 5% on criminal litigation;

- Ability to liaise independently with Law firms, seek opinion, negotiate engagements and mandates.

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for someone with a strong background in corporate litigation. Ideally you have 12 - 15 years experience post qualification. Having experience within a law firm combined with a couple of years in a corporate is highly recommended. In addition having worked in an international company is a must. You will possess the following qualities:

- Have experience in conducting and managing litigation confidently and have a sound understanding and awareness of litigation processes in India;

- Have an eye for detail, ability to independently draft agreements;

- Ability to network and have good inter-personal skills;

- Commercially savvy to understand impact of legal decisions on Business and to find solutions which are compliant and business facilitators;

- Ability to work on deals/projects as part of a Team with quick turnaround time;

- Ability to deliver under pressure and engage in several projects simultaneously/ multi skilling.
