Job Description:

Job Title: Senior Engagement Manager–Investment Banking (Grade: AVP)

Department: Strategy Operations

Reports to: Head-Strategy Operations

Location: Mumbai

Job Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

- Spearheading the IB practice independently from a delivery, solutioning (business development, business development support and creating Proof Concepts) and thought leadership perspective. Possess deep subject matter knowledge to lend additional credibility and add value at all stages and levels.

Project Delivery:

- Supervise and guide all projects in the IB practice from resource mobilization to first contact to final delivery and ensure adherence to scope, timelines, budgets, quality standards, and risk management to ensure customer delight

- Provide thought leadership to the project teams including overall guidance, mentoring and supervision

- Review project plans as well as deliverables and validate insights and strategic recommendations by the teams

- Overall supervision and management of project - ensuring project process adherence, TATs and compliance standards

- Over-manage client communication process including understanding requirements, expectation management and delivering quality outputs

- Manage and deepen client relationships, also identify further business opportunities with existing clients

Business Development and Solutioning:

- Actively contribute to the business development process, support sales teams in closing deals by participating in client calls and pitching solutions

- Design solutions for IB clients based on client’s requirements and define the structure of the proposed engagement including resource requirements, travel requirements, effort estimates and proposal pricing strategies.

- Develop proof of concept of the solution (if required)

Practice and Organizational Development:

- Work with the Senior Management Teams to define practice’s vision and mission

- Lead development and building of the practice team, ensuring appropriate skill-sets, right sizing of the practice team

- Collaborate with senior management in development and enhancement of knowledge nuggets and thought pieces, methodologies and frameworks, website content development, etc. Also build sales collaterals such as whitepapers and capability decks

- Work with the Solution Development team to guide development of applications on the Big Data Platform

- Monitor competitor activity and competitor strategies in the IB domain to benchmark firm’s performance and identify improvement areas

- Manage practice specific vendors such as database vendors, primary research partners etc.; participate in finalization and negotiation process

People Management:

- Career manager for the Consultant and Senior Consultant groups

- Lead and motivate all resources within the practice, also define their career goals and progression, retention management, including practice specific training and development initiatives

- Actively participating in organization-building activities such as hiring, process improvement& tracking, growing client accounts, etc.

Education & Experience:

Educational Qualifications:

- An MBA from one of the top institutions in India / abroad

Relevant Experience:

- Relevant work experience of around 10-12 years in Investment Banking support processes and Strategy Consulting in renowned Organizations managing overall responsibilities of the SBU

- Experience in Investment Banking operations or with Investment Banking captives in following activities at an operational as well as strategic level – comp analysis, writing pre-placement memorandums, Investment Memos, etc.

- Has managed large teams (30-40) for running large scale IB processes

- Process orientation and high level of comfort with usage as well as customization of Technology tools

- Adept at detailed financial models

- Industry thought leadership

- Clarity of financial concepts and interpretation of financial statements

- Ability to develop and articulate strategic recommendations based on rigorous data analysis

- Ability to partner with BD teams to understand client problems and marketing strategies

- Proactiveness to identify areas of improvement, designing solutions and implement them on the ground

- The candidate should be able to lead client engagements at CXO as well as lower levels

- Ability to tie analytic solutions to business/industry value and outcomes

- Should possess sharp, logical and analytical thinking

- Should possess exceptional written and oral communication skills (including high end presentation skills)

- Should be self-motivated and driven with high degree of professionalism to work in a small and fast growing set-up

- Ability to work in a time-line driven environment

- Should possess excellent people management skills including mentoring and coaching

- Should be hands-on with exceptional execution/delivery capabilities

- Should possess excellent Operations and Project Management skills

- Should have Business Development acumen and ability to identify Business Development opportunities
