- Sportskeeda is looking for a seasoned content professional to manage and grow its editing team based out of Bangalore. - The team is comprised of in-house editors, and freelancers who work remotely. The candidate will be responsible for managing both teams, grow the remote-editors network, ensure that they deliver on their targets and generate weekly reports on the efficiency and quality delivered by them. - The team edits and publishes highly engaging sports content from writers across the world. This team is our first and last line of defense, delivering on our brand promise that Sportskeeda is home to the most engaging and premium sports content. - This is a young and dedicated team that seeks a leader who understands data analytics, provides clear and tangible directives by making sense of data, and enhances quality and speed in a constantly shifting content landscape. - Fake news, sensationalism, plagiarism and unreliable reports are increasing in frequency not just in sports, but across the content industry. The candidate will know how to set up processes and help the team to spot and eliminate these ticking time bombs. - Being able to motivate and inspire the team to ideate and solve business problems, and the ability to think in directions that can make a positive business impact is vital to success in this role. - We need someone who can deliver on this commitment to our audience and writers' network, every day. - The candidate will have ideas to mentor and foster writers, and to drive positive change with respect to quality, while keeping an eye on business objectives and upholding Sportskeeda's standards and values. - The candidate should be a dynamic leader who can remain calm and focused in a high-pressure environment, while firefighting issues. Dealing with queries from the writer network, content teams and editors, while juggling other responsibilities should come naturally to you. - Most importantly, this is a hands-on role and we need someone who is fast, accurate and has strong judgment - someone who can lead from the front. The candidate will have the following key responsibilities: - Meet quality targets for accuracy and speed, and continually improve team performance - Streamline workflow and create processes with a focus on business objectives - Work with Bangalore and Remote Editors to enhance the speed and quality of publishing - Grow the Remote Editors team to ensure round-the-clock content publishing - Mentor and foster the writer network, address their queries and work on improving their quality - Deliver strong team performance in a positive environment, including completing appraisals for team members - Be responsible for training new staff and coordinate with other team leaders/editors to ensure continuous coaching for staff - Be actively involved in ongoing product development and train the team on any new feature Essential Skills & Experience Required: - At least 5 years experience in the content industry - Must have been part of the management team with team management experience - Ability to work independently and a proven track record of delivering results - A fast learner with a positive outlook towards a targets driven work culture - Good relationship and stakeholder management skills - Strong analytical, coaching and organizational skills About Sportskeeda: - At Sportskeeda, we are at the forefront of delivering premium Sports content that matters.
