Manages the development of the Solution Architectures (for large programs of work) that are of high quality and consistent with the Divisional and Enterprise Architecture blueprints and roadmaps and with the organisational framework and standards

Responsibilities

- As a Solution Architect, you will gather, analyse and interpret functional and non-functional requirements to determine an architectural solution for a specific business project within the approved scope. The focus is on logical and physical views for application design for specific solutions for large and major projects.

- The architecture delivered will be more detailed than the enterprise architecture, and will be consistent with the Divisional and Enterprise Architecture blueprints and roadmaps, and conformant with the enterprise architecture principles and methods. This architecture will be used to guide the work of the detail designers and developers.

- As the Solution Architect you will maintain oversight, and deal with issues discovered during the detailed design, development, testing or implementation phases of the project, and where necessary update and re-issue the architecture artefacts.

- You are also expected to expand the pool of architectural knowledge and re-usable designs by thoroughly documenting your work and actively sharing artefacts stored in a centrally registered asset repository.
As you will generally be involved in the development of solutions for large and major projects you will be required to lead a team of Solution Architects involved in the development of the Solution Architecture for the project and provide guidance where necessary.

Essential Experience

Post-Graduate qualification in Information Technology (e.g. computer science, information management, mathematics, etc), or relevant work experience consistent with Organisation Policy

Strong background in Transaction Banking (typically involving cash management, trade finance and capital markets), Payments technologies – their associated standards / regulatory requirements, as explained below.

- Various PCM products in the Payments, Collections and Clearing domains

- Designing customer Channel solutions including Internet and B2B channels like Host to Host and ERP integration

- Designing offline/localised Cash Management solutions for Commercial Banking customers

- Regional regulatory requirements in Asia-Pac and Australasia environments

- Integrating cash management solutions across various core banking solution and integration platforms

- Standards in the Cash management space like ISO 22022, SWIFT, IFX etc.

- Various clearing platforms, methodologies and standards in Asia Pac and Australasia regions

- Technology options to handle all of the above.

- Strong understanding of one or more of the following - Institutional (including Money markets), Private / wealth and Retail banking domains

- Experience in medium to large and complex systems development and maintenance

- End-to-end experience across the SDLC, software modelling and OOAD,

- Exposure to systems architecture frameworks, principles, concepts and process

- Experience across a range of technologies (i.e. Java/J2EE, .Net, OLTP and DW systems)

- Knowledge/awareness of enterprise architecture, enterprise integration / SOA (experience in IBM stack desired)

- Working knowledge of business operations, infra sizing and IT project planning.

- Strong Vendor Management skills

- Excellent Customer relationship and management skills

- Very good leadership, interpersonal and team-building skills

- Very good oral and written communication skills, presentation skills

Desired Experience

- Broad understanding of a relevant business area with an in-depth understanding of the systems and business needs of that area.
