JOB DESCRIPTION- Software Asset Management Specialist

Summary

Responsible for engaging and assisting customers in understanding and controlling their software licensing costs, avoiding legal pitfalls related to licensing by leveraging industry best practices while expanding SoftwareONE's licensing opportunities and building more-profitable, long term relationships with our customers.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for SAM Project execution - Kickoff, Fieldwork/Data Collection, Reporting & Discussing report with customers

- Creates project plan and tracks project progress against the plan

- Ensures accurate data collection for SAM projects via various methods, scripts, third party tools, and manual approach

- Provide consulting regarding customers SAM project needs

- Business process analysis, create and implement business processes, optimize business processes

- Acts as presales technical consultant during SAM services sales discussion by answering and explaining technical functionality of services and delivery model

- Development of our SAM services and strategy

- Executing SAM projects, rollout and transfer of a running system to the customer

- Development functional concepts

- Create documentation of operational concepts, workflows, etc.

- Analyze customer license contracts

- Investigation and clarification with the software publishers

- Internal and external workshop leadership, user training

- External technical and project coordination with customers and SAM tool providers

- Project budget responsibility

- Analysis market for SAM tool providers

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

- Excellent verbal & written communication skills

- Strong Skills in business process analysis

- Strong Data Analysis and project management skills

- Excellent with word, excel and powerpoint for documentation, reporting and presentation

- Licensing knowledge and product use rights for MS, Oracle, IBM, HP, VMware, Adobe, etc.

- Software Asset Management knowledge and experience

- SAM Accreditation & Certification such as MCP, MCTS, CSM, ASM preferred

- Providing training to key stakeholders and end users

- Highly self-motivated and results oriented

- Strong presentation, communication, organization, and time management skills

- Solid problem solving and consultative skills required

- Mandatory hands-on experience in conducting audits of at least two out of following publishers: Oracle, HP, VMware, SAP, IBM
