Summary of the position :

The Technical Architect is responsible for the overall technical design and build of the custom elements of the solution. Specifically the Technical Architect focuses on technical architecture aspects of the EA process, driving alignment between the architecture of software solutions and infrastructure technology, driving integration and interoperability of technical designs, working closely with system and software product engineers.

Skills :

- Ability to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements

- Produce a detailed technical design document to match the solution design specifications

- Complete/oversee the custom development and quality assurance efforts for custom work

- Participate in internal projects as required.

- Must have performed architect roles in earlier projects building custom enterprise services leveraging SOA principles. 4+ years of architecture experience is preferred. Life cycle software development experience using agile methodologies is a plus.

- Provide Customer Training as required

- Participate and lead, when needed, the project meetings with the customer

- Manage multiple development designs and projects to meet project and customer required time lines.

- Proactively understand customer needs and display commitment towards meeting them.

- Display flexibility, preparedness and speed of response in dealing with ambiguous situations.

- Involve all the team members in planning, goal setting, and design and analysis activities.

- Solve problems, after gathering relevant data and analyzing it.

Technical Skills :

- Worked as an Architect for a large Enterprise Web Application

- Knowledge and practical experience in using any architecture tool such as Rational System Architect, Rational Software is also desirable

- Extensive experience with object-oriented software development methodologies and practices. Strong in following technologies

- OOAD/OOPS/UML, Design Patterns, MVC, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Java, J2EE

- Exposure to JSP, JSF, java script library, Ajax and UI frameworks

- Exposure to component model design, SOA, open sources framework/tools

- Web Services, JMS, XML, SQL& Oracle

- Experience in developing platforms or frameworks, messaging frameworks, Enterprise application integration frameworks

- Experience in building cloud enabled applications/ platform would be an asset

- Excellent knowledge of the open source software/ tools/ technologies

Qualification and experience :

Overall experience required : 8 to 15 years

Relevant experience required : Minimum 4 years experience as a software architect.

Exposure expected :

- 5-6 years experience in the earliest stages of building a project, which can start with developing ideas with the client, establishing budgets, assessing the needs of the building and its users, and its Impact within the local environment.

- The Technical Architect Position is a customer-facing role requiring professional communication skills to a variety of roles within customer organizations from technical system engineers to senior management.

- He/She must be adept at collaborating with various internal and external organizations and is ultimately responsible for defining solutions that meet customers- individual needs.
