Job Description: Software Technical Architect (Expert+ level)  Job Location: Bengaluru  Lead the software design and innovation effort in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. See the - big picture- and create architectural approaches for software design and implementation to guide the development team. Engage throughout the SDLC by contributing towards architecture and design of components while troubleshooting issues found within the application. The goal is to provide a framework for the development of enterprise software that will result in high quality software solutions.  Key Responsibilities:  - Propose and implement technical solutions, ensure their integrity with existing system, ease of maintainability and fitting in the organization-wide technical roadmap  - Guide on, review and revisit the best practices, frameworks and tools to build and maintain the software products, according to functional requirements  - Be an authority specialist for complex technical areas, including but not limited to installation, upgrade, configuration, continuous deployment, performance and benchmarking  - Guide the developers on clean and quality code practices, maintain and enhance the practices for continuous improvement and refactoring, code reviews, pair programming, etc.  - Ensure the team is capable and has required tools and guidance to develop stable and productive environment, with minimal rework required due to architectural change or related problems as products evolve.  - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry changes in technology standards, information management, development standards, methods and emerging 3rd party software in order to advise on technology and leverage industry best practice in the design and construction of software products.  - Drive significant technology initiatives end to end and across multiple layers of architecture  - Ability to propose designs and lead discussions and be able to make decisions and propose trade-offs keeping the long and short term in to the picture is very key to success in this role  - Provide technical leadership and be a role model to software engineers pursuing technical career path in engineering  Skills and Key competencies:  - Strong experience in design, architecture and implementation of complex, fault-tolerant and high-available Java-based and J2EE systems  - Excellent knowledge of Java 7 & 8, including but not limited to concurrent programming, data structures, Java for Web (MVC frameworks, JS frameworks), JMS/MQ (IBM MQ, Active MQ), Spring technologies (IoC, AOP, Transactions, Security, Integration, Boot), ORM (JPA/Hibernate)  - Experience with Java Web development with Struts 1.4/2.0 is desirable   - Good understanding of web services and JEE web Servers.   - Hands on experience in API/micro services architecture  - Good understanding of application security and OWASP  - Experience the JVM tuning (GC, memory management, caching) and performance troubleshooting  - Experience with any Unix-based platform (Linux/Solaris/AIX)  - Experience with any database (Oracle, DB2, MS SQL)  - Excellent understanding of modern Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and TDD/XP methods and tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Maven, Ant)  - Excellent knowledge of modern development and collaboration tools (SVN, Git, IDEA, Eclipse, JIRA, Confluence)  - Strong and effective communication and writing skills, ability to quickly express the opinion, carry out design and implementation discussions with individuals of different level of expertise, experience and knowledge  Education and Experience:  - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a reputed engineering institution. Master's degree in Computer Science is a plus.  - 14+ years of development with significant experience in Java technologies  - Strong software engineering background and programming experience and very strong in programming disciplines like data structures and design patterns  - Experience in building integrated software solution is preferred  - Exposure to SAAS is a plus  - Experience in developing financial services software is a plus
