Job Description - Excellent opportunity to work in the space of technology-driven financial services. The Software Development Manager (SDM) should expect to be "always on" in this fast-paced set-up. Working closely with the top-management, the SDM will be responsible for the various products, their quality and also the mentoring of the engineering team by being equally hands-on as well.

Our client is a leading start-up in the FinTech space and gives options for credit line. Having recently secured an investment of more than $12 mn, the app already has more than 3 lakh installs and is serving the problem of credit for the middle-class Indians.

Description

Reporting to the CTO and co-founders, you will be responsible for:

- Quality of software produced

- Flexibility in aligning and realigning the plan for multiple parallel activities when priorities change

- Mentoring engineers by demonstrating ability to understand, define and solve technical or architectural problems which would involve 30% hands-on coding and design

- Efficiency within the team by improving standards on automated testing, scripting, cross module software components etc.

- Coordinating and cooperating with the product management and customer success teams

Profile

- B.Tech or BE from a reputed engineering college (IITs, BITS, NITs, VIT)

- 8+ years of experience in SaaS product engineering; 3+ years of experience in managing teams with size between 10 and 15.

- Should have worked in product-based IT companies or scalable start-ups-

- Ability to break down software deliverables into time sensitive and ordered set of software components that engineers can build; for up to 10 concurrent features and 3-4 work streams.

- Ability to plan out various activities and keep the plan updated as a means of communication with stakeholders - Microsoft Project or Taskjuggler skills are a big plus

- Programming principles and hands-on experience of Java with Spring, Unix/Mac to shell level, one relational database (Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL).

- Experience in one front end development work (Android, iOS or Web) technologies is a plus point

- Guide people in making software design cheat sheets

- Precise conversation skills in English
