Sodexo India- Onsite Services

Sodexo On-site Services has a direct link to services in India back to 1966. Position Title: Director - Human Resources

Reports To: Head HR - Sodexo India On-site Services

Span of Control: NA

Location: Mumbai

Position Purpose:

In view of the growth Sodexo seeks in India, it continues to invest in the build out of its HR function with a talent pool that will help it expand and grow its businesses. Hence, it seeks a Director- HR who will contribute to the development, integration and execution of Organization wide HR strategies across the corporate and BU.

This role is an ideal Launchpad for HR professionals aspiring to lead HR function of significant complexity within next few years and will be responsible to lead the organization's overall HR agenda across the different businesses in India as part of the succession plan. This will be a challenging opportunity to be a part of growth oriented business and contribute in building a world class HR function.

Key Responsibilities :

S/he will drive the following elements at an organization-wide level

- Responsible for ensuring the organization human capital initiatives and operation plans support the organization business model, business strategy and its operational implementations.

- Support Sodexo in becoming an organization recognized for a culture focused on its people, high performance standards, world-class leadership, and ability to manage change and drive to innovate.

- Design, implement and manage the OD and HR processes, policies, systems and metrics to attract, retain and develop current and future employees and leaders. Implement a systemic competency-based approach ensuring internal consistency and alignment to business strategies.

- Develop and implement programs for talent acquisition: recruitment, testing, selection, orientation and job placement.

- Work with management to define employee development needs in order to implement T&D plans and programs to meet the organization's strategic goals and objectives.

- Lead activity related to detecting, assessing and developing critical talent and leaders, including succession planning.

- Develop and implement a human performance management system based on a MBO and competency model, with the subsequent performance management processes.

- Develop and implement reward and recognition schemes according to Sodexo's pay philosophy and local business needs.

- Coordinate and monitor productivity metrics and compensation costs together with Finance to help achieve profitable growth goals.

- Manage the local work environment making sure that there are effective internal communication, employee satisfaction, legal and company code of conduct compliance, safety and security and labor relations processes.

- Ensure that robust recruiting, on boarding and retention processes exist to attract the quality, depth and diversity of talent needed to meet the company's business objectives.

- Direct the development and maintenance of a total compensation plan consistent with federal and state equal pay statutes and places Sodexo in a competitive position to attract, motivate, and retain highly skilled employees

- Manage external relations representing the organization in conjunction with the VP HR with regards to legal conflict, external HR vendors and consultants, regulatory bodies, prospect employees. Create and embrace technology solutions to improve the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of the human processes.

- Partners across Sodexo's global HR organization to identify share and implement HR Best Practices collaborating relentlessly to continue building an outstanding best-in-class organization.

- Gain respect as trusted in-business advisor to leadership and as a strategic partner within a specialized HR discipline both inside and outside the business unit.

- Demonstrates subject matter expertise in multiple areas of specialized HR function(s).

- Demonstrates innovative thinking and strategic orientation in the design and implementation of solutions.

- Consistently executes strategies to produce organizational change. Spearheads projects that impact the business as a whole.

- Possesses excellent, effective strategic focus with clear demonstration of anticipative strategic thinking.

- Effectively manages extremely challenging situations involving high-level conflict.

- Effectively and regularly interacts with the CEO/ president, and/or HR executive vice president levels. Demonstrates skills and abilities to influence significant change and decisions critical to overall business success.

- Regularly demonstrates leadership skills and desired behaviors to achieve consensus building and conflict resolution.

- Develop and manage annual budgets for the division and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses.

- Provide assistance and advice on all matters relating to industrial relations within the company. Liaise with all unions that deal with the Company.

Candidate Profile:

- Master's Degrees in Human Resources with about 10 years work experience.

- Able to travel, as appropriate.

- Experience in dealing with Unions.

- Proven ability to use initiative in carrying out tasks.

- Strong knowledge of HR and ability to apply to complex organizational issues is required.

- Expert level generalist skills and strong consulting and analytical skills are essential.

Key Competencies:

- Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results.

- Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative.

- Demonstrated ability to coach managers and supervisors to use company best practices for maximum effectiveness.

- Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation.

- Excellent presentation skills and knowledge of employment laws.
