The country program in India focuses on three thematic areas, namely development of value chains (specifically agricultural value chains); development of entrepreneurship (specifically socially relevant businesses) and innovative partnership models for enhancement of livelihood opportunities for the poor. It is an exciting period for the country program as we set up our Indian entity and look for expansion of our programs and coverage across the country.

Senior Manager (Vegetable value chain - National)

Job Description for Sr. Manager – Vegetable value chain development - All India

Title: Sr. Manager (Vegetable value chain - National)

Description:

- TechnoServe is currently working with a large retail sector player in developing 10 clusters of vegetable production, where we work with smallholder vegetable farmers to link them with the direct farm procurement program of the retail partner.

- The position would support the execution of this program, work in close partnership with the business team of the retail partner and deepen this partnership further.

Specific tasks would include:

- Leading the execution of the program across the different clusters with the project management team and establishing viable business model

- Deepening the partnership with the donor and business partner, work towards scaling up of the program to new clusters and expanded farmer coverage

- Cultivating new relationships, developing the ecosystem for the value chain and partnerships, especially private sector partnerships on value addition and market linkages

- Working with the country team and development division of TechnoServe globally to prepare high quality learning documents for replication of the intervention model in other geographies

Requirements:

- Candidate should have minimum of 10 years experience in social development, specifically agri-business or entrepreneurship promotion field.

- Proven track record / experience of leading a multidisciplinary team, facilitating private sector partnerships on agribusiness programs and delivering results, specific experience in retail sector with fresh produce (like vegetable) will be highly desirable.

- Should possess excellent analytical skills and, communication skills both written and oral

- Candidate should possess good understanding on global agribusiness development space, and priority areas.

- Candidate should be flexible to travel extensively

Qualification:

- Master’s degree in business, agribusiness management or International Development with relevant prior experience
