Research : Should be up to date with what is happening in the fast-changing world of social and digital media related to the company or its products, what competitors are doing, and what new measurement tools are being used.

Problem-Solving : Find out how best to hack social media for growth and communicate the company's message on different platforms, and sometimes might need to convey sensitive issues or deal with angry customers.

Organization : Preparing schedules, finding out how and where the relevant audiences are present, are some of the aspects of the job. How you communicate on each platform and determine audiences, using analytical insights, is necessary.

Interpersonal Skills : Even through writing, social media managers are a direct connection between a company and the public. Building a community of people and converting them into leads is expected.

Technical Skills : Social media experts work almost exclusively through computers. Being tech savvy is a must.
