- This position is part of APAC HR organization, reporting to HR Manager, responsible for the full HR function of John Crane India. She or he will be responsible for end to end compensation & benefits plan, employee relations and other related HR Activities. This will also be responsible for partnership with local team in communication, policy adherence, case management, and employee relations issues. - He/ she will be a single contributor and supported by the HR Operations team, this person will be responsible for delivering the full range of HR processes including recruitment, organizational development, training, compensation, wage & benefits, industrial relations, performance management & statutory compliances. We are looking for someone from Oil& Gas/Manufacturing companies only and someone who is familiar with local language (Kannada). Key Accountabilities and Challenges: - Manage the development and implementation of staffing strategies to ensure effective recruitment, screening, selection and retention of quality employees, using practices consistent with company policies and legal requirements. - Work with functional managers; manage the delivery and administration of HR processes such as Employee Relations, Compensation, Wage & Benefits and Performance Management programs. - Ensure assistance is available to counsel employees and managers to resolve issues such as policy and procedure interpretation, performance expectations, absenteeism, discipline, and workplace harassment and discrimination. - Provide consultation, resources and training assistance to department and division management to assess and address ongoing training and development needs. Provide oversight to ensure equitable access to training opportunities. - Delivers site/functional communications in accordance with group/divisional/functional communication strategies. Collects and analyses feedback from communications and works with constituents to develop recommended actions. - Partner with HR Operation to provide HR System support, process standardization and centralization, implementation of global or regional project initiatives. - Assure company compliance with all applicable regulations and respond to questions regarding regulations, consulting legal counsel when necessary. - Manage recruitment process and ensure compliance with prevailing regulations. Conduct new employee orientations. - Develop and maintain employee policies and job descriptions for salaried staff. - Promote positive employee relations practices in the work environment.Educational Qualification and Experience: - Responsible for computation of Financial Provisions relating to Leave Salary, Bonus, Superannuation, Gratuity, Incentives, etc. - Ensures timely publication/distribution of MIS Reports/Information. - On time submission of Payroll inputs to payroll vendor & ensure on-time disbursement of salaries. - Ensure compliance with labor agreements and work with union representatives and supervisors to resolve questions about contract interpretation. - Provide strategic and tactical support in decisions regarding personnel changes, including hiring, promotion, suspension, and discharge. Prepare termination and/or severance agreements and benefits termination letters to be in compliance with plan contracts and company policies. - Respond to daily policy and practices questions from management, line supervisors, and employees. - Assists HR Manager to carry out other HR related activities as and when necessary. Educational Qualification and Experience : - Masters Degree in Human Resources or related field with at least 5 years of HR Generalist experience, with good experience in Employee Relations and Organization Development. - Manufacturing environment and union experience (specifically collective bargaining unit experience) preferred but not essential. - Ability to shape and lead human resource programs to maximize support for company strategic business goals. - Ability to build relationship as trusted advisor to management, proactively managing the stakeholders within Smiths organization. - Very good knowledge of Indian labour laws. - Excellent influencing, communication and people management skills with the ability to interact with all levels of staff. - Highly motivated with initiative and drive; results-oriented and customer-focused. - Very good verbal and written English communications skills. - Local language proficiency is important. - Interpersonal Relationship Development Skill. - Problem solving and decision making skill. - Planning and organizing skill. - Good Analytical Skills.
