Data Scientist Job Description for Analytics Position in SMECorner, Mumbai

A very exciting opportunity to apply statistical methods in Banking and Financial Services / Financial Technology

We are looking for candidates between 2 to 9 years experience in predictive modeling, dashboard building, quantitative analysis, web scraping, big data, machine learning, NLP, social media analytics, risk and customer analytics, mobile analytics, form filling analytics, chatbot and API building, segmentation and clustering, speech and video analytics, market research etc. in Financial services.

Expertise in Python/R is a must.

BFSI Domain is preferred

Post Graduate in Mathematics / Statistics / Economics / Computers / Commerce/Engineers/ MBAs with relevant experience are welcomed

Job Responsibilities :

- Develop, maintain/validate and optimize statistical models for various scenarios and get the models approved with stakeholders as per plan

- Build stress models, application, behavioral and collections models/scorecards; underwriting and fraud identification models, claims/lapsation/surrender models, churn and segmentation models, Value at Risk Models etc.

- Monitoring the digital activities across the platforms like web, mobile, social media and so on

- Set Up the Big Data architecture, perform analytics and maintain the same

- Develop dashboards using Data visualization tool - Qlik sense

- Experience in social media and digital analytics

- Experience in text mining/sentiment analysis/Natural language processing

- Write model technical review documents and creating model implementation plan

Required Skill set :

- Strong hands-on experience in data mining, structured and unstructured data.

- The resource should be hands-on proficient in Excel, Access, VBA, SAS / R / Python / Java / Scala

- Expertise in google analytics, Adobe Sitecatalyst, hotjar, clicktale, clicky, radian 6 etc.

- Hands on experience on Big Data technology stack Hadoop development,Hadoop adminstration, Map-Reduce job development and maintenance,Hive

- Spark cluster setup and maintenance

- Should know at least one NoSql databases such as like MongoDb, Cassandra etc..

- Past experience with version control tool like github or bitbucket or git

- Applicant should have hands-on experience on Web scraping and API development

- Good sense of application architecture and ready to learn new architecture like lambda and kappa

- Proven experience of statistical modeling including logistic and linear regression, clustering, decision trees, operational research, factor analysis, PCA, neural network and random forest, machine learning techniques like K- nearest neighbour, naive - bayes, Support Vector Machine, Maximum entropy, K-mean clustering, anomaly detection, hierarchical clustering, Time Series, natural language processing concepts and algorithms like word2vec, POS tagging, parsing, Generalized additive models, genetic algorithm simulations, artificial intelligence, deep learning, model validation techniques etc.

- Applicant should have hands-on experience for optimizing existing algorithms and models

- Experience in frameworks like pig, oozie and zookeeper is an advantage
