SMBC - AVP/VP - Trade Finance

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is a Japanese multinational banking and financial services company head quartered in Tokyo, Japan. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group. SMBC is the second largest bank in Japan by asset.

SMBC has been present in India since 2012 as a Scheduled Commercial Bank.

The incumbent will be a part of the Corporate Banking Department - Trade Finance at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

The incumbent will be responsible for marketing and developing of Trade Finance customers for the bank. The incumbent will also be required to administer account transactions in accordance with guidelines, internal/external regulations and the department's strategy and should be a subject matter expert and ensure training of the Operations and Legal & Compliance on Trade Finance.

Details of their responsibilities include:

- Introduction of new trade products (Launch & marketing)

- Deliver trade solutions through a global network.

- To identify and market trade finance opportunities to existing and potential customers

- To enhance business promotion jointly with Corporate Banking Team

- To structure and propose appropriate financing transactions for approval & execution

- To assist RMs to prepare credit applications, reviews and respond to enquiries from customers.

- Review legal documentation relating to facilities offered to customers and ensure completion of documentation and internal approvals are in place

- Implement credit facilities and liaison with departments for execution. Review transactions presented by customers before processing by operations department.

- Monitor utilization and track flow of transactions till completion to meet budget requirements.

- Monitor market developments/movements and make necessary reports to Management in a timely manner.

- PCFC & Post Shipment transactions

- Buyers & Sellers Credit

- Invoice discounting

- Other related trade products

Knowledge of Guidelines : ISBP, FTP (2015-20), FEMA, UCP 600, URR, URC, URDG, RBI Master Circulars.

Skills required :

- Must have strong knowledge of Cross Border Trade & Foreign Remittances.

- Must have experience in handling large corporates

- Candidate must be able to work in a dynamic high pressure environment
