SMBC - AVP - Trade Finance

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is one of the largest Japanese banks in the world and serves customers in APAC, EMEA and Americas region. The bank is majorly involved in commercial banking activities. In India, the bank has launched its operations in March 2013 and is growing steadily since then. We are looking out to recruit dynamic people for the branch to aid the business expansion plan in the country.

We are currently recruiting AVP's - Trade Finance.

Job Summary :

- Responsible for development of trade finance business and smooth execution of trade finance transactions in India.

- Responsible for execution of Priority Sector Transactions involving export credit (PCFC/PSFC in INR/FX).

- To administer account transactions in accordance with guidelines, internal/external rules/regulations, and the Depts strategy.

- To co-work closely with Branch RMs as well as liaison with the colleagues of the Global Trade Finance Teams.

- Should be an Subject Matter Expert on operations and execution.

- Knowledge of documentation under LCs for exports/import products.

Products Handled :

- LC Issuance, Payment, advicing, Confirmation etc.

- Guarantees and SBLC.

- Pre & Post Shipment trade transactions including PCFC/ PSFC in FX and INR specially related to export finance.

- Buyers & Suppliers credit.

- Invoice Discounting, Factoring, Accounts Receivables Purchase, Vendor Financing.

- Supply Chain Finance and other related trade products.

Responsibilities :

- Implement credit facilities and liaison with related department for execution (including operation matters). Review transactions presented by customers before processing by operations department.

- To enhance Business Promotions jointly with the Corporate Banking Team, specially Export credit

- Assist RMs to prepare credit applications, reviews and respond to enquires to customers for trade related transactions.

- Review legal documentation relating to facilities offered to customers. Ensure completion of documentation and necessary internal approvals are in place

- Monitor utilization and track flow of transactions till completion to meet budget requirements.

- Monitor market developments/movements and make necessary reports to Management in a timely manner.

- Implement supply chain finance platform and manual mode

- Coordinate for trade finance execution through SMBC global network for cross border transactions
