Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is a Japanese multinational banking and financial services company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group. SMBC is the second largest bank in Japan by asset.
SMBC has been present in India since 2012 as a Scheduled Commercial Bank.
The incumbent will be a part of the Operations Department at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
The incumbent will be responsible for handling Trade transactions including documentation for imports & exports. Details of their responsibilities include:
- To process all types of import payments under LC.
- To process Direct / Advance import payments.
- Processing of LC issuance & LC amendments (FCY / Local)
- To process operations related to LC transfer.
- Adding confirmation to LCs.
- Keeping record of bill of entries, sending reminders, issuing acknowledgements
- Preparation of SWIFTS messages.
- Generating statement / advices and any other transaction statements or certificate as per customer request or as per internal or statutory compliance requirement.
- Preparation and confirmation of all import related data for RBI and other authorities.
- Preparation of balance confirmation.
- Operations related to Buyer's & Supplier's credit.
- Operations related to ECB loans
- Keeping track of maturities related to all types of import payments
- Filing of documents. Arranging and maintaining all files properly.
- Keeping and maintaining registers related to assigned work area.
- Other work allocated by the management.
Skills required:
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have strong knowledge of Payment systems like NEFT, RTGS and Foreign Remittances.
- Must have multitasking abilities
- Candidate must be able to work in a dynamic high pressure environment
