- The Legal & Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the company is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in India. This includes managing the company's legal and regulatory compliance programs and providing legal advice to management and other departments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in India for NBFC and Fintech business, including the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines and the Companies Act.

- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise management on their impact on the company.

- Manage and oversee the work of external legal counsel.

- Perform periodic audit of the existing business processes to ensure 100% adherence to legal & compliance requirements. Create and supervise the compliance requirements for new business processes.

- Create escalations policy for each department to address audit gaps.

- Maintaining records and documentation as per compliance and legal requirements, ensure the data readiness for any due diligence.

- Manage litigation and disputes, including representation in court and before regulatory authorities.

- Create compliance related training programs and related materials for the different business units.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Law degree from a recognized university in India

- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a legal and compliance role, preferably in the NBFC or banking sector

- Excellent knowledge of Indian laws and regulations, particularly in the NBFC sector

- Hands-on experience with a variety of reporting operations and procedures

- Good organizational and time-management skills

- Ability to multitask

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Critical-thinker and problem-solver

- BA in law, finance, business administration or similar related field
