Job Description:

The SimpliLearn Design Team is looking to enrich and augment our Design Function with a leader of UX Design who is passionate about great UX Design, obsessed with visual persuasion, lives and dreams User Delight. The leader should be able to understand, articulate and solve user problems, tying back to the business outcome. This role is for an exceptional leader who will lead a team of UX designers and will have a hands-on approach towards strategizing, conceptualizing, leading and delivering design projects across our various software assets.

About the job:

The candidate gets to lead a team of designers and 3 software portfolios. The candidate gets to lead and mentor UX practitioners both senior, junior and associate designers. As a design leader, you will manage teams of designers, evaluating individual design deliverables and overall team performance. The candidate is also expected to provide critical feedback where needed and encourage team members across various initiatives. At the same time, being responsible and accountable to the product strategy aligned with the company vision.

What you will do:

- Own and lead the overall Product UX team, starting from acquisition (website/app) to retention (learning management system) software touchpoints

- Understand and align with Simplilearn's business objectives to think strategically and create positive impact on simplilearn's business outcomes.

- Ensure world class Design Quality and User Experience across all of Simplilearn's Products including their various user touchpoints in Website, Learning Management System, Mobile App and Admin softwares

- Take a Data Driven approach to Design Planning, Execution, Design Management, and Design Performance Validation.

- Define, plan, execute and guide the UX teams to conduct detailed User Research, Competitor Analysis and Usage Data Analysis.

- Maintain highest standards in UX Design and consistently produce delightful and world-class User Experiences consisting of Interaction Design, Visual Experiences as well as Micro-interactions.

- Work with Leadership and Stakeholders to understand, analyze and improve UX Design and Product Performance Metrics.

- Guide, motivate and manage team members towards exceptional and on-time design delivery.

What you'll need to succeed:

- The ideal candidate would have a great mix of proven Design leadership skills as well as Hands on Design Experience with a laser focus on Human Centric Design Practices and Processes. The candidate should be able to guide and define the overall UX of all the verticals, so should have 40% UCD expertise, 20% Visual Experience expertise & 40% Design Management (Includes all aspects of User Research)

- 8 yrs of professional design experience, with 2 to 4 years specifically in eCommerce Website Design, 1- 3 years on SAAS products and 1-2 years on Mobile Designs

- At Least 3 years of Managing a team of 6+ UX professionals

- Experience of designing and delivering rich product experience in a fast-paced environment, is a mast; preferably from a startup background.

- Must have a Data-driven, Research-oriented, and UCD based approach to UX Design.

- Should have a Growth Product mindset, iterative approach, aligned to business objectives

- The candidate should be able to talk and understand business to succeed in this role. Engage with business and product leadership to plan and execute product implementations and enhancements.

- Able to present design proposals to senior stakeholders that are backed up by strong business and users benefit rationale.

- Team up with product and development teams to ensure the design gets translated well as a final product.

- Manage communication at all levels and be responsible for project deliverables with quality and on time.

- Have a hands-on approach towards guiding the Team in creating delightful website experiences.

- UX Program and Delivery Management experience is mandatory.

- Demonstrable willingness to take initiative and think outside the box.

- Extensive experience in designing for mobile, web and ubiquitous web experiences, contextual data visualization, learning, and other areas.

- Highly detail oriented, bordering on obsessiveness towards consistency and minutiae.

- Have an understanding of eCommerce strategies and goals backed by exposure to various prevalent technologies.

- Must showcase knowledge of latest website design trends and best practices.

- Creative thinker with the ability to constantly challenge the status quo and expose details otherwise overlooked

- Should be able to build, develop and maintain a set of best practices and operational guidelines to reduce design and production efforts.

Education:

- Having a B.Des/M.Des degree is a Bonus

- For non-design background candidates, having a UX Certification from verified Institutions/organisations is a must.

Mandatory Portfolio: Demonstrated success in leading, planning and delivering simple, elegant, usable Website and App designs.
