Silicon Valley Bank - Lead Financial Reporting Analyst

The SVB Financial Group Regulatory Reporting team has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Financial Reporting Analyst, who will be responsible to work on Bank's regulatory reports in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting policies as well as apply understanding of current report production process and requirements to drive automation of report production in associated reporting tools. The candidate will be part of the External Reporting Group

Essential Functions

Prepare regulatory reports per the requirements of the U.S. operations and the respective entities, including but not limited to the following:

- FR Y-15 - "Banking Organization Systemic Risk Report"

- FR Y-14 - "Capital Assessments and Stress Testing Report" (Annual/Quarterly/Monthly)

- Regulatory Capital, Capital Ratios & Liquidity reporting calculations

- Loans, PPNR, Retail FVO/HFS reporting across multiple reports

- Implementation of Large Financial Institutions (LFI) reports onto strategic end mile reporting tool like AXIOM, Vermag or similar platforms.

The role would support some part of below schedules as well

- FR Y-9C/ Y-9LP / FFIEC 031 / FR Y-11/11S/2314 - Income statement & Balance Sheet reports

- FFIEC 009, TIC B reports, BEA Reports, - Transactional reports

And several other reports filed to the Federal Reserve Bank and State regulators

Recommendations

Recommendations made to the Accounting group on establishment of general ledger accounts and accounting entries to be made based on research and analysis of accounting principles issued under US GAAP and Federal Reserve regulatory reporting requirements

Recommendations made to management regarding reporting matters based on research and analysis of accounting principles issued under US GAAP and Federal Reserve regulatory reporting requirements as well as peer analysis

Knowledge

- Proficient in US GAAP, IFRS and relevant accounting and financial reporting matters

- Strong knowledge of US Regulatory reporting framework including Capital & Liquidity reports, FR Y 14/15 and Financial Reporting tools / systems

- Ability to define and layout controls across processes to help mitigate risk

Experience

- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience

- CA / CPA

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required

- Experience leading and managing a financial reporting team with changing priorities and ability to complete detailed tasks under limited timeframe

- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Reporting concepts and practices especially FR Y-14/ Y-15

- Ability to understand complex financial products and system architectures, accounting business processes, financial and management reporting (US GAAP), month-end financial close process, regulatory reporting, entity consolidations and multi-currency accounting

- Proficient in Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

- Change management and analytical skills

- Ability to build relationships across functional teams to drive towards a common goal

- Ability to organize and manage multiple, changing priorities, and complete tasks under limited timeframe

- Mix of industry and large public accounting firm experience preferred
