Lead - Second line of Defense will be responsible to run and lead teams delivering 2nd level of controls including but not limited to Ops risk, Market risk, Credit risk, Compliance risk and Reputational risk. The role would have accountability for overall performance of the entire Controls testing process, partner engagement, productivity, seamless service delivery, quality and effective people engagement and would be measured on the overall efficiency of the process. Controls Testing : - Evaluation and Interpretation of risk types, methodologies and frameworks for testing controls and assessing results, conducting research, and identification of control deficiencies. - Drafting and executing control evaluation test scripts to assess the design and Operating effectiveness of internal controls. - Implementation of control evaluation methodologies to support the target state. - Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls; along with analyzing business and/or systems changes to resolve impact. - Provide recommended changes to controls if underlying processes have changed or new items / risks added to the business in an advisory function Governance & Reporting : - Maintain strong internal controls and responsible for SOX processes and testing as required - Provide day-to-day leadership to the finance, accounting, vendor management, corporate analytics, financial planning, corporate development and tax functions as it relates to the India business unit in a way that is consistent with group wide policy, procedures and financial controls - Responsible for supporting both internal / external audits - Support cross-training and resource rotation to ensure that there is enough breadth and depth of talent caliber/ potential across the organization to provide enough bench strength for key roles, and to sustain and build interpersonal capability over time Partner management: - Accountable for effective communication of issues across the GDC and working groups - Lead onshore partners, providing periodic updates and supply to periodic communications like Debrief, Dashboards, critical metrics etc. Work closely with: - HR in Staffing, people initiatives and attrition management - Transformation team on Process Improvement Initiatives and ensuring seamless migration - Technology team on automation / digitization initiatives for the process Operational Excellence - Act as strategic contributor for SVB, suggesting continuous improvement initiatives by maximising industry standard methodologies - Improve operational efficiency by exploring new ways of working through process improvements - Innovate ways to automate process by rolling out quality initiatives - Actively seek and identify areas to increase scope of GDC, by identifying areas of alignments and existing competencies. Collaborate with onshore and GDC teams to drive migration - Promote culture of innovation in team seeking ideas for process improvements from team members. Quantify and evaluate the feasibility of ideas given by team members Skills - - Excellent written and spoken communications skills - Able to interact with internal/ external stakeholders and ensure interactions are of a high quality of service - Able to coordinate with other internal departments to deliver seamless service to business - Able to effectively manage tasks and delegate work among team members (as required) - Able to identify and document personal skill development goals and milestones to mentor team members - Good analytical skills - Efficient and well organized, able to work under tight deadlines - Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to multitask - Ability to be flexible with job duties, shift timings (3:30 pm to 12:30 am IST) and scope of work - Proven capability to work independently without hand holding and exercising sound judgment &amp; initiative
