As a Technical Project Manager, you will be leading a team to build a highly-scalable and extensible big data platform that provides the foundation for collecting, storing, modeling, and analyzing massive data sets from multiple channels. Roles & Responsibilities: - Delivery Lead cross-functional teams spread across geography to deliver complex projects - Define, monitor and improve critical to success metrics for the success of the project and individuals - Plan and manage multiple parallel projects - Organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues while delivery planning for assigned projects - Stakeholder (internal & external) management - Interact with Project Sponsors, Project Stakeholders, and multiple business and technical teams to define and deliver complex features - Work very closely with various business stakeholders to drive the execution of multiple business plans and technologies - Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. - Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels - Ensure consistent and transparent status updates with all stakeholders (engineering, Business, product, leadership) Coaching/Mentorship: - Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities - Apply best practices to the software development life cycle for projects based on experiences with a number of agile and blended approaches, as well as effectively coordinating the implementations across teams using very different approaches People: - Draft road-map for skill development/growth of team members, facilitate upskilling of team members and aligning them against appropriate projects ensuring effective utilization within the project - Working closely with the team members to understand their short term and long term career aspirations. - Objectively goals setting for project and individuals & timely tracking of the same. Effective feedback communication with the appraisee - Hiring - Knowing the requirements of the project and plan for ramp-up/down within the team. Drive the hiring process end to end. Create/fill new openings by maintaining optimal role mix within the team Customer Centricity: - Understand and work with the views of the customer so that the goals and deliverables of the project are valuable from the customer's point of view. Success criteria for the project to be assessed by customer satisfaction and business value generated by the project outcome - Identify new opportunities to innovate on behalf of our customers - Assist team to deliver innovative and simple solutions having significant customer impact Basic Qualifications: - Degree in engineering or mathematics or related technical discipline - Overall 8+ years of software industry experience - 2+ years of experience managing large cross-functional software projects right from inception to launch seeing the full life cycle in an agile delivery - 2+ years working experience on Big Data tech stack - Excellent knowledge of one or more OOP technology stack - Java, Python, etc. - Experience in architecture fault-tolerant, highly available, and scalable distributed architecture systems. - Strong verbal and written communication skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with developers, business owners, and customers - Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines - Working knowledge of any project management tool - Strong data analysis, problem-solving & debugging skills. - Obsession with quality and customer experience - Knack of finding opportunities for growing business with existing customer Preferred Qualification: - Experience in managing a big data project - Experience working on BFSI domain - Experience working with US customers - Desired to have a project management certification - PMP or Agile PM
