CTO / Head of Engineering for Global SaaS App - Equity + Salary

Job description :

- We are looking for a seasoned Tech leader to lead our tech team and accelerate the building of Shipturtle - a SaaS platform targeting a multi billion dollar opportunity to disrupt the Ecommerce space.

- Our app helps websites build Brand Partnerships with any other website globally and create Custom Vertical Marketplaces. Think of it as a Stripe for ecommerce via which any website can talk to others. The vision is very similar to an ONDC for the world.

- We have a profitable MVP being used by merchants across 50+ countries.

- The current founding team is led by IIM graduates and has a combined experience of over 40 years. We are proudly recognized by Startup India, incubated at IIM-Bangalore & also part of the prestigious Antler accelerator cohort '22.

- Some of our peers globally are Getcarro, Shopcanal, Mirakl - all of which are valued over $100 mn+.

Job Type : Full Time - preferably Ahmedabad, but open to Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Bombay etc. as well

Experience : 4+ years of experience in building Products using tech like Laravel, mySQL, VueJS, NodeJS or similar. Understanding of both frontend and backend tech is essential. Experience with API integrations & ecommerce is preferred.

Education : Master's(preferred) - preferably from an IIT or Tier 1 institute

Compensation : The role will have significant equity attached (5-20%) + a salary between 12-24 lpa. This will be dependent on your profile.

This role is very critical for us and hence we are looking for someone who is looking to work with for the medium or long term. An entrepreneurial mindset is necessary.

Current Tech Stack : PHP+Laravel, mySQL, Vue.js, AWS Lightsail, Redis, Node.js, microservices written in other languages, integrations with many RESTful APIs

Detailed Skill Sets :

- Ability to hire, groom and lead a world class tech team - can be a mix of on-site, remote or freelancers.

- Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks.{{such as Laravel, Yii, etc depending on your technology stack}}- (the current stack is on PHP but future developments can be on other technologies)

- Understanding the fully synchronous behaviour of PHP.

- Understanding of MVC design patterns.

- Build Laravel web applications & API's.

- Experience working with third-party APIs, Payment gateways and web service.

- Good understanding of web and social media applications/ cross browser/ mobile best practices.

- Highly proficient with Vue.js framework and its core principles such as components, reactivity, and the virtual DOM

- Familiarity with the Vue.js ecosystem, including Vue CLI, Vuex, Vue Router, and Nuxt.js

- Good understanding of HTML5 and CSS3, including {{ Sass or Less depending on your technology stack }}

- Understanding of server-side rendering and its benefits and use cases

- Knowledge of functional programming and object-oriented programming paradigms

- Ability to write efficient, secure, well-documented, and clean JavaScript code

- Familiarity with automated JavaScript testing, specifically testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha

- Proficiency with modern development tools, like Babel, Webpack, and Git

- Experience with both consuming and designing RESTful APIs

- Any experience with ML, Web3 will be good to have.

- Strong attention to detail, Great communication skills.
