Job Title : Solution Architect Business : Group CIO Office - APD - Architecture Skillpool : IT Architecture Job Description : - Solution Architect is responsible for delivery of IT solution designs to projects. These solutions need to be fit for purpose within the portfolio, have technical integrity, the right TCO (total cost of ownership) through its life cycle and a good fit with the IT technology direction of Shell. The resultant High-Level Designs have a measurable impact on the effectiveness and profitability of Shell. - This role will support Shell's Global Commercial business; delivering IT solutions for our B2B lubricants business to support and sustain our global growth agenda. Responsibilities of the Solution Architect include : 1. Provide solution architecture development, consultancy and assurance to projects, making sure solutions are well designed and conform to Shell standards and reference/segment architectures. 2. Support and guide the architecture of Salesforce being developed and implemented until the successful deployment of the solution. This includes: a. Being the focal point for architecture aspects of an IT Project. b. Design projects in accordance with Shell's reference architectures and target operating environments. c. Ensure proactive and inclusive engagement of stakeholders in IT. Including data; infrastructure and security architects. d. Focus on Total Cost of Ownership in solution design. 3. Follow technology developments in the market and leverage this knowledge in architecting solutions in Shell. Ensure solutions are - future-proof- 4. Stay aligned with development of standards and standard services in IT at Shell to ensure the latest service developments are considered. 5. Pro-actively contribute to the development of the Architecture community and be an ambassador for Architecture. 6. Participate in governance processes, e.g., assurance review and signoff, and share all relevant needed documentation. Participate as required at the Architecture Review Board and relevant IT Leadership Teams. 7. Be an integrated and senior part of the natural team for solution design and delivery - teaming with IT Manages; Business stakeholders; Security; Data; Infrastructure, development, delivery and support teams. Special Challenges : Skills & Requirements : - Typical Years of Experience : 12+ years in IT - Minimum Education or Certification : 4-year Degree related to IT - Architecture and Design expertise in Data/Analytics - Market Standard Solution Implementation - Stakeholder Management - Governance and Decision Making - Deliverable-oriented with focus on results. Doer/hands-on attitude.
