Sheffield - Works Manager/Production Manager

1. General management of the production line and Service delivery in conjunction with the production manager, service manager and line supervisors.

2. In liaison with the planning, purchase, design and delivery departments ensure processes run seamlessly and be proactive enough to mitigate any delays.

3. Accomplish production staff results by communicating job expectations including; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, initiating, coordinating; and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

4. Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process that includes: setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between relevant departments.

5. Diligently complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

6. Effectively and efficiently draft monthly, weekly, and daily target plans and ensure those are achieved within the stipulated time frame.

7. Continuously champion total quality management and advice through direct supervision and guidance at every stage of the product development cycle.

8. Ensure continuous product development procedures are in place and are implemented to ensure uniqueness of Sheffield products remains unparalleled in the market.

9. Ensuring all tools and machines are in good working condition, reporting any anomalies to the concerned authority, and following up to ensure that the repair/purchase is authorized and done within a reasonable time.

10. Continuously monitor, mentor, coach, and review the performance of subordinates in the production department using performance appraisal tools, timely feedback, and advice to the relevant persons on how to remedy gaps occasioning poor performance.

11. Keep track of production time, quantity, quality, and certifications and ensure proper and up-to-date records of the same are well kept.

12. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points; equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

13. Continuously monitoring and striving to minimize costs of production by ensuring efficiency and effectiveness are well observed to cut costs on unnecessary overtime, and material wastage is reduced to a bare minimum.

14. Spot and nurture talent, and discipline, and ensure good manufacturing practices are adhered to at all times.

15. In liaison with the Quality Control Engineer, ensure that first Aid kits are well stocked, first aiders and fire Marshalls are well informed and proper procedures are followed in the event of fire or accidents in the workplace.

Requires:

- A bachelor's degree in related technical or scientific discipline or equivalent. Diploma / B.E./ B.Tech. (Preferably Mechanical)

- Should have 5 years' experience in the related area as an individual contributor with 1-3 years supervisory experience.

- Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
