Service Manager - Industrial

Our client is a European MNC with sales and marketing operations in India for their range of machines, tools and accessories for concrete-based construction.

This is a key managerial role to be located in Chennai and will be responsible for building up the service business in India for the business division. Key responsibilities of the position include the following:

- Establish and implement a local service/after-sales strategy within the sales company strategy

- Lead service team - establish, develop and monitor team members; set up processes for service performance

- As part of the local management team you are expected to contribute to the overall development of the business

- Plan and conduct training for local service organization, outsourced technicians, and servicing dealers, and others

- Establish a local price strategy for spares parts and service prices

- Manage and optimize local spare parts stock, and back order follow-up, order fulfillment ratios (service level)

- Budget (P&l) and follow up cost for the service centers

- High level management and guidance to service/after-sales operation e.g. internal / external workshops, local warranty policy

- Driver for service development program

- Implement/Communicate Service Bulletins and Service Manager Bulletins

- Secure participation in - Train the trainer- training program.

- Reporting on product quality and field service operations

- Parts pricing and spare parts management

Competence profile

- Mechanical Engineering degree with 10-15 years of experience

- Relevant technical know-how in fields of mechanics, electrics and hydraulics

- Experience in training and customer insights programs

- Managerial skills - leading and developing teams

- Administrative skills

- Fluent English skills both written and spoken

- Fluent in Hindi and regional languages

- Independent and self starter
