- The India Service Logistics Manager is responsible for managing field logistics operations and providing logistics support for the Diebold Service Organization. This person controls and directs the functions and operations of all field logistics personnel within a specified geographic region in support of the Services Organization.

- The incumbent is responsible for supervising implementation of logistics programs, processes, and initiatives that impact financial, operational, and service level results.

- This person ensures all field logistics operational processes governing the ordering, stocking, disbursement, processing, and shipment of service parts inventory are performed properly.

- The incumbent is responsible for managing inventory levels in order to: maximize targeted service level objectives; optimize asset utilization; and minimize inventory investment.

- Other responsibilities include hiring, training, and development of field logistics personnel, and performing operational reviews of field logistics operations.

- Additionally, the incumbent assists in the preparation of the annual financial operating budget and ensures all field logistics personnel comply with financial and operational controls, policies, and procedures.

Supervisory Requirements :

- The span of supervision may vary between 10 - 15 associates.

- This person will manage multiple field logistics operations and provide logistics support for a geographic region that has between 700- 8000 Service Engineers and some outsourced workforce.

- This position responsibilities include hiring, training, and administering performance appraisals for field logistics personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities :

- Manages field logistics operations and provides logistics support to the Service Organization. Controls and directs the functions and operations of all field logistics personnel within a specified geographic region.

- Supervises implementation of logistics programs, processes, and initiatives that impact financial, operational, and service level results.

- Ensures all field logistics operational processes governing the ordering, stocking, disbursement, processing, and shipment of service parts inventory are performed properly.

- Manages inventory levels in order to: maximize targeted service level objectives; optimize asset utilization; and minimize inventory investment.

- Manages the Inventory Integrity for the Central Warehouse as well as Field Warehouses

- Responsible for Parts Planning to ensure maximum parts availability with optimal investment - improve cash flow for the organization

- Responsible for managing & appointing new repair vendors so as to optimize the repairable inventory

- Works on establishing the optimal distribution network that optimizes the transportation cost at the same time improve the customer service levels.

- Performs operational reviews of parts stocking facilities to ensure inventory integrity & operational controls are in place.

- Assists in the preparation of the annual financial operating budget and ensures all field logistics personnel comply with financial and operational controls, policies, and procedures.

- Directs field logistics personnel in techniques of inventory control and administration.

- Issues directions for improving operating methods and ensures that new procedures are communicated and adhered too.

- Incumbent will drive Oracle discipline at field as well as warehouse level.

- Planning for Cost reduction on parts to find alternate partners either locally or in abroad & Tracking the Cost Reduction

- Finding the solution to reduce the domestic freight charges by finding alternate transportation

- Liquidating of Non Moving/Slowing stock

Additional Responsibilities :

Will be involved in :

- Vendor payments and tracking for entire Service Function

Job & Requirement :

- BE graduate / Post graduate in logistics with at least 10+yrs experience in Logistics operations

- Spare part management experience will be an added advantage

- Must have been in a supervisory mode for at least 5 years

- Excellent communication skills with ability to manage customers at senior levels

- Good understanding of Operations Management

- Subscribe to good value system and business ethics

- Strong presentation skills with great convincing powers to communicate thoughts and ideas

- Planning, time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, and organizational skills

- Experience in using metrics and indicators to drive organizational improvements
