- Act as the key driver of change across the organization and ensure its realignment with the dynamic external environment realigned business imperatives and introduction of robust finance management practices across businesses. - Drive productivity / return on marketing &amp; other investments, by integrating financial spends on brand and product needs and correlating them through proper business planning on Sales deliverables. Operational / Functional Responsibilities - Financial Planning, Budgeting &amp; Reviewing - Roll-out and facilitate the approval of the annual budget from the Board of Directors. Further the role will have end-to-end ownership of consolidating and validating financial plans, business plans, feasibility studies, investment as well as other financial and business documents that may be required from time to time by the Organization's leadership / Board for taking decisions that may have long term or short term impact on the Financials. - Review and assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and company's long-term strategy. - Evaluate all proposals related to capital or operational investment proposals and assess financial / business viability of the same. - Assist in establishing yearly objectives (related to financial deliverables) and meeting agendas, as well as engaging with external parties / consultants (auditors, investment advisors, etc). - Oversee costs management in alignment with company strategic plan. - Review with rigor on Investment Returns and financial productivity (margins, profits, costs, expenses, etc) and ensure proper tracking / information mechanisms are in place to keep the senior leadership informed. - Facilitate the Leadership with qualitative analysis of financial results; Develop recommendations (strategic and tactical). - Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team. Funding and Cash Flow Management - The role will be completely accountable for proper management of cash-flows and funding requirements for the Organization's short or long term needs. The incumbent will ensure that an appropriate financial policy framework is in place to guide the company's financial decision making. - Prepare, Review, and maintain regular financial planning reports; Monthly profit and loss forecast by division (vs. budget); cash flow forecast. - Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed. Approve weekly payables - Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans. - Oversee foreign exchange risk management including hedging strategies and ensure compliance with company policies. - Accounting, Tax, Audits, Compliance and Reporting - Regulate, supervise and implement a timely, full and accurate set of accounting books of the Organization in a manner that commensurate with the relevant accounting standards and Taxation laws as well as other relevant legislation and regulation in the territories of operation. - Timely, regularly and duly prepare and present financial / P&amp;L statements and Balance Sheet to as required by all pertinent laws and regulations and as deemed necessary or demanded from time to time by the Board of Directors. - Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements along with analysis and suggestions on the course corrections required. - Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting; oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements. - Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and execution of all internal as well as external audits. - Ensure maintenance of appropriate financial procedures, internal controls and manage external auditors. - Plan and manage the company's tax liabilities under the rules or laws and ensure proper adherence to the Tax laws and ensure NIL liability to the Organization with regards to the same. - Ensure timely filing of tax returns, tax audits and tax assessments for both direct and indirect taxes. - Ensure compliances of all legal and regulatory issues relating to financial function. Improvement in processes and internal controls - Implement continuous financial control systems to monitor the performance of the Organization, its flow of funds, the adherence to the budget, the expenditures, the income, the cost of sales and other budgetary items. - Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function; Develop checks and balance system to manage master data creation and maintenance. Asset Management and Insurance - Ensure periodic verifications, valuations of company assets as well as assessment / reassessment of different risks and put in place adequate insurance coverage against these risks. - Manage the company's real estate affairs consisting of leases and sub-leases with various landlords; and work with Legal teams on the negotiation / re-negotiation of new leases or lease renewals; Enterprise Risk Management - Proactively inform the Board of Directors and to warn it regarding any irregularity, lack of compliance, lack of adherence, lacunas and problems whether actual or potential concerning the financial operations, plans, accounting, audits, budgets and any other matter of a financial nature or which could or does have a financial implication. - Spearhead Enterprise Risk Management process to ensure mitigation of any foreseen or unforeseen risks that Organization may face in future. - Ensure all key organizational risks are identified, assessed in terms of likelihood and magnitude of impact, determining a response strategy, and monitoring progress. - Recommend and review appropriate `risk response strategy- for specific risks identified and analysed. Investor Relations - Develop, implement and manage investor relations programs. - Liaise between analysts, investors and investment stakeholders. - Develop an annual schedule of investor relations events. - Ensuring that the right company information is released in a fair and trustworthy manner to the current and prospective Investors, analysts and other stakeholders of the company. Team Management - Continuous assessment of skill set inventory visa vis organizational / functional needs, identify gaps and induct right people - Identify training needs of the staff members and organize suitable training programs for their personal development - Establish mentor programs for key staff members - Conduct periodical performance appraisal of the team members and guide them to improve their performance and build their career path. Vendor Management - To maintain a working relationship and to develop additional relationships with the banks, financial institutions and capital markets. Major Challenges - Achievement of intended end results through short term spending - Keeping a close watch &amp; in-depth analysis on various business indices to track their movement &amp; forecast current month &amp; immediate future trends based on the same (keeping in mind all the parameters like seasonality, demographics, geographic spread, geo-political factors, etc). - Review / analysis of ROMI in specific and quantifiable measures - Ensuring adequate systems and planning controls are in place to mitigate ROI risks at different touchpoints. Key Decisions this job will facilitate - Facilitating decision making at the time of financial evaluation of a new cost proposal or Opex proposal based on which approvals are taken. - This role will facilitate the management in analyzing the viability / success of critical investments in the short term spends - Support the management on taking various decisions based on KPIs and trends and prioritizing the direction as well as the expenditure - Act as a validating authority for any financial payments / schemes / payouts / opex - directly impacting the revenue / EBITDA of the businesses. - This profile will help organization in clearly monitoring the accountabilities (department wise) for the Opex spends and ensure better control / optimization - Basis the Budget monitoring and deployment, the organization will be able to focus on driving the right efficiencies and its conversion of inputs into outputs Skills &amp; Knowledge Key skills and competencies: - Exposure to changes in Accounting standards, Tax laws, FEMA, FERA, SEBI and IFRS guidelines - Strategic Thinking &amp; Customer Focus - Effective Decision Making - Execution Excellence with Drive and Passion - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Strong team-orientation and distinctive people skills - Professional attitude and work standards - Analytical mind-set with excellent problem-solving skills - Good understanding on a broad spectrum of business issues - High level of initiative, Agile - Eye for details Qualification: - A Chartered Accountant with post qualification experience of 18 - 20 years - Additional qualification of law, MBA, CS or ICWAI would be a plus.
