Responsible for facilitating the purchase, sales, and supply chain management of agricultural products. The primary objective will be to maximize profitability by executing strategic trades and managing relationships with suppliers and buyers.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, price fluctuations and emerging opportunities within the agricultural industry.
- Develop and strengthen existing long-term customer relationships. Develop and grow existing key vendor and industry relationships, and new product sources, to ensure supply of quality product.
- Maintain and expand existing client base and research new potential markets. Coordinate with producers and MSMEs to purchase crops for domestic contracts and export.
- Purchase correct grades of grains for domestic contracts and exports. Ensure delivery of products on time, to the stipulated destination. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on a continuous basis for facilitating transactions as per desired plans.
- Monitor market risks and implement strategies to mitigate exposure to price volatility and other market uncertainties.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations, trade policies and quality standards governing agricultural products.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external partners to coordinate activities, resolve issues and capitalize on market opportunities.
- Any other duties that the company may assign from time to time
Basic Qualifications:
- Post Graduation degree in supply chain management or MBA from any reputed institute with specialization in Agri, Food and logistics sectors.
- Proven experience of around 8-10 years in agricultural commodity trading, raw material procurement and supply chain management in any large reputed processing and /or services firm.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in market analysis and financial modelling. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel rigorously in the assigned geography
- Knowledge of agricultural commodities markets, trading platforms and risk management strategies.
