The purpose of the Senior Technology Specialist role in CNS is to bring in additional focus on Datalink product line. This role shall demonstrate innovation and product differentiation in the product line by smart use of technology, the role shall also demonstrate thought leadership across Honeywell in one or more technical disciplines and takes ownership for identification of technical talent and coaching cross functional teams in technical capability development.

GROWTH :

Business Expansion / Connect :

- Collaborates/ actively networks with university authorities, peer industries, customers for new technologies incubation/ information. Performs competitive technology analysis and IP analysis (Trends, new opportunities, surveys risk of existing patents) in multiple product lines assigned and advices internal/ external stakeholders. Participates in Technology Trade Shows/conferences for knowledge gain/sharing and Honeywell Technology Symposiums for knowledge sharing through paper and poster presentations and technology demonstrations.

- Participates in bringing new concepts to Indian Market in collaboration with business partners.

Innovation :

Applies existing packaged solutions and participates in developing emerging technologies requiring high degree of Technical Innovation. Actively participates in generating, evaluating, selecting and implementing new solutions at Honeywell which are state of the art. Motivates functional team ( developers, project managers ) in IP creation for the Solutions / Process/ Product in the field of expertise.

Customer Internal / External :

Participates in Observation/voice of customers (O/VOC), Customer Needs identification, prototyping of solutions and providing demonstration to customers. Provides Technical Recommendations to Business Partners by evaluating various concepts and carrying out technical feasibility tests to map the right solution to customer need and Influences decisions for translation to design for projects of complex nature.

Strategic / Business Impact :

Represents people and projects in technical strategic planning. Participates in technology and product roadmaps (scalability/extension/integration) in collaboration with business partners for the multiple product lines assigned Monitors new technology trends, conducts innovation workouts, generates growth ideas, publishes white papers and develops product differentiation. Collaborates / functions as System architect driving design effectiveness, first time right design and Human factors.

Execution Impact :

Drives Growth Projects, Technology Incubation and Research topics to the extent applicable. Develops Proof of Concept (POC) and Pre Product Visualization (PPV).Prepares portions of complex technical reports and is the principal author/co-author of multiple project proposals that are selected for technology initiative funding. Identifies all technical risks in the project and guides team in resolving technical issues. Drives Technology Readiness Levels Migration (TRL). Actively involved with the technical aspects of the IPDS cycle (Integrated product development and supply cycle where applicable

CASH :

- Guides cross functional stakeholders for cost effective planning and resource estimations considering all relevant constraints and needs.

- Ensures thorough identification and evaluation of cost/schedule factors for optimum selection of technical alternatives.

- Ensures use of Technology Reuse Strategies and Platforming approaches.

- Performs "Gap Analysis" and arrives at new solutions, tools, process and automation to reduce cost where applicable and guides reporting/ cross functional teams in productivity improvements.

PEOPLE & ENABLERS :

Internal Stakeholders :

- Participates in strategic planning of product roadmaps and new technical strategies with business partners and interacts with subcontractors, engineers on projects and proposals.

- Leads the technical risk management aspects for new technology insertion working with various stakeholders at the project level. Collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure smooth delivery/transition and works with system engineer depending on the requirement. Leverages support and collaborates with global / domestic Advanced Technology Team based on the need. Communicates with senior leadership team to present technical accomplishments

Reporting Team / Functional Team :

Takes ownership for talent identification, nurturing technical capabilities within and across cross functional teams. Guide the teams for effective implementation of various systems and subsystems. Coaches functional teams in the application of processes and tools. Selects and coaches technology students from universities for new technologies incubation/ ideation. Drives effective people practices in line with Honeywell policies as applicable to the role.

Constantly updated on technical advancement/trends and works with stakeholders for opportunities identification and development, provides technical insights and assesses impact on product lines. Uses technical capability and significant problem analysis methodologies to establish most effective solution for moderate to highly complex problems that involve interaction of more than one technical discipline. Provides thought leadership in area of expertise and has an In depth knowledge of product technology, application at multiple product lines.

- During CDR, audit, requirement/issue negotiation

- During Voice Of Customer

- BE/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech with 10+ Yrs of experience in AEROSPACE industry in building and certifying products related to Datalink.

- Two or more years of experience in architecture definition and requirement development.

- Demonstrated experience in progressively challenging and Responsible roles. Must have experience working in Matrix organization structure.

- Keen and aware of the technical developments in the market and takes action with alacrity

- Must have demonstrated strategic thinking in the past work

- Must be a good communicator of vision, ideas and work requirements

- Must be an innovative and integrative thinker quick to visualize solutions and generate ideas

- Must be able to mentor / coach / guide experienced technology specialists.

Must have inflammable energy and enthusiasm to constantly motivate the team

- Must have IP- s/trade secretes in the area of aerospace Posses good orientation to systems, procedures and process frameworks (DO178B/C, ARP574A, CMMI, SPL, MBD, Six-Sigma) for product development

- PPL/Pilot experience will be an advantage
