Business Title: Senior Research Associate / Specialist

What we do :

We do research on financial solutions / financial planning for US market. Few specific examples of financial planning research are to create an algorithm for savings hierarchy that would optimize some financial goals or to determine how much to save for retirement or how much a retiree can withdraw in retirement without outliving his asset. It can be also some mundane stuff like evaluating whether to buy a house or stay in rent etc.

Work can involve demographic research like evaluating the readiness level of the US employees or the factors responsible for early or late retirement etc. based on some survey.

The final outcome of the research can be a viewpoint paper or thought leadership article or a calculator. In some rare cases, the final outcome can be also some conceptual new financial products like some hybrid pension concept etc.

The work doesn't- t involve any individual security or fund level research. The work also doesn't- t involve anything related to actual investment or money management decisions.

Skills / Knowledge:

There is three skills/knowledge needed for this role.

1. Good quantitative modeling skill. The candidate would be able to convert any real world problem into a mathematical framework. Prior practical experience in quantitative modeling (not necessarily in financial field) would be valued. Knowledge of Monte Carlo simulations and other quantitative techniques is necessary.

2. Basic knowledge about investment theories. Some specific examples could be knowledge of fixed income pricing, derivative pricing etc. but not limited to these only.

3. Some familiarity with basic coding either in VBA or R or in any other language.

Education :

- B. Tech in engineering, from reputed institutions like IITs.

- Master in quantitative sciences like Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Finance, and Computer Science etc.

- CFA or some relevant Actuarial examination.

This position is based out of Bangalore.
