Senior Research Analyst - Strategic Operations Practice

Key responsibilities :

- Work with project teams to refine and refocus their research objectives

- Determine the most appropriate, cost-effective, and timely solutions

- Gather necessary raw information using a broad spectrum of sources

- Organize, analyze, and synthesize findings into targeted, firm-formatted end products including single exhibits, written summaries and spreadsheets, or more in-depth fact packs, primers, and firm knowledge documents

- Clearly extract the "so-what" and implications of the data utilizing financial concepts, ratios and other calculations, and standard conceptual frameworks

- Develop knowledge in one or more "spikes" (e.g. industry, function, or geography)

- Build expertise by developing basic fact packs, summaries, and the assigned portions of larger documents in your area of focus

- Solid understanding of a specific content area and its salient issues form the basis for advancement in the Global Research career path including contribution to knowledge artifacts, primers, proposals, white papers, etc.

- Develop relationships with consultants to display impact and work closely with senior leadership of the practice

- Provide effective on-the-job coaching and guidance to more junior colleagues

- Actively contribute to firm's responsibilities and processes (Global Coordination, SER) while being operationally diligent and effective

Level-defining Research skills - Request scoping/problem solving: Good investigative problem-solving skills; significant involvement in helping teams refine and focus their requests and objectives

- Industry/functional knowledge: Established knowledge of major trends, key drivers, and issues in one or more topics including supply chain, manufacturing and procurement across industries

- Source knowledge: Solid source knowledge in area of expertise, if relevant; increasing source quality recognition and use of possible proxies; Knowledge of secondary databases

- Research output: Excellent skills in summarizing data, using conceptual frameworks, and pulling out the "so-what's" from research

- Numerical/Financial skills: Solid understanding of complex economic, financial, and business terminology with ability to perform medium-complexity analyses

- Expertise dissemination: Contribution to the creation of knowledge- sharing materials to fill knowledge/learning gaps; frequent engagement in knowledge-sharing discussions

- Relationship building/networking: Proactive utilization of network within the Global Research community and beginning of identification of experts in the wider firm community

- People leadership: Effective on the job coaching and guidance to more junior colleagues

Requirements - Education: A post graduate degree (relevant degree/ certification in Operations is a plus) from a respected institution with demonstrated analytical expertise

- Experience: 4-6 years of relevant business research experience, preferably working in a research environment, or with demonstrated involvement in discrete research-type projects

- Demonstrated knowledge in Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations, Supplier management, Logistics, or similar domain is needed

- Additional languages and multicultural experience are also beneficial
