Relationship Manager Private Banking

Purpose of the Job Bank Private Banking Group provides financial solutions, products and investment advice to high net worth clients (India and Offshore (Gulf & SE Asia) with a focus to manage their wealth. The product range includes deposits, bonds, equity and debt funds, alternative assets like real estate or private equity funds and structured products.

The role of an Investment Strategist is that of analysis of asset classes based on research inputs and market data, helping form a view on various asset classes (investment strategy) and asset allocation, identifying tactical investment themes, analyzing various investment products that provide exposure to those asset classes along with detailed rationale, constantly reviewing them to ensure that those products remain relevant in current market context, dealing with RMs and Advisors in communicating, convincing and pursuing with them on the implementation of investment strategy. The role also requires the IS to be sufficiently client oriented and should have the capability to double up as Advisor on a case to case basis.

Key deliverables:

Analyzing the emerging trends in various asset classes (fixed income, equity and commodities in general) in coordination with the Research Team to form a forward looking view on those asset classes. Such views are then used by RMs and Advisors in assigning appropriate exposure in clients portfolios.

1. Tactically reviewing views on various asset classes to book profits / go tactically overweight to benefit from the likely volatility in any of the asset classes.

2. Analyze new products getting launched with respect to their appropriateness in the current market context and also assigning a suitable risk profile as per internal methodology.

3. Reviewing existing products constantly for their relevance, change in the products strategy if any or under performance which may call for a change in the view on the product.

4. Constantly interacting with RMs and Advisors on ground to convince them of the house calls (investment strategy) and monitoring the implementation.

5. Identifying system requirements / process improvements to reduce manual effort in analysis, periodic reviews and other advisory deliverables. Also includes enhancement of current processes based on gap analysis of current working and market practice.
