Senior Proposal Development

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Raise financial resources and build partnerships to support mission

2. Coordinate and strengthen the business development and fundraising functions

3. Build and sustain relationships with donors and partners and strengthen external relations and reputation.

Job Overview/Responsibilities :

New Opportunities:

- Utilize in-depth strategic thinking and analysis to develop strategies aimed at increasing organization's likelihood of winning targeted funding streams.

- Identifies, screens, researches, and monitors institutional donors using the most up-to-date online databases and other resources (ex. tax data, philanthropic publications), shares findings with relevant staff, summarizes findings in fundraising databases.

- Searches databases, newsletters, websites, and social media for open calls for competitive funding opportunities.

Proposal Coordination:

- Works with teams to collaboratively manage complex donor proposal processes, including establishing and tracking timelines, managing proposal review, and clearly communicating with team members about their roles throughout processes.

- Writes and edits concept notes, proposals, letters of inquiry, bids, and other donor communications focusing on clarity and accuracy, readability, and professional presentation - presenting them as donor-ready to final reviewer.

General Duties:

- Ensures that information related to donor proposals, contacts, and processes are well-documented and accessible to others within the organization.

- Through engagement with cross-functional teams, external partners, and donors serves as a valued partner representing the Development Department.

- Other duties as assigned.
