Senior Project Manager - Software - Manufacturing

Key Educational Qualification and Experience:

- Master's or bachelor's degree in Engineering or IT

- Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience. 

- 12+ years of product development or solution implementation program management experience in software solutions for high-tech machines or manufacturing automation & controls

Industry - Software Development + Automation, Industrial IoT/ Digital Manufacturing & Analytics

The Role: Impact & Contribution

- A manager with dynamic leadership qualities, who can motivate and inspire the team to deliver consistent results within the desired scope, time, budget and the required quality.

- Establish program & project lifecycle management framework involving customer engagement, development & deployment of resources & inter departmental collaboration to achieve Industrial IOT program objectives of on-time-delivery-in-full (OTDIF) & first-time-right (FTR) leading to customer delight and enhancing organization equity.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic and planning: 

- Liaison with cross functional teams within IIOT, group company stakeholders, and customers to ensure on time delivery of projects

- Drives resolution of technical issues, resource conflicts, identified risk areas and creates collaborative working environment across the project delivery value chain

- Establish governance mechanism within company and work closely with customers to achieve customer satisfaction

Functional:

- Ownership of full scope of Industrial IOT projects including Requirements, Edge & Connectivity, Software Platform implementation, Data Analytics & allied services.

- Oversees projects and provides leadership for cross functional team project managers, architects,product managers, business analysts & data scientists.

- Identification & Implementation of a robust Project Management framework. Provides inputs and standards so that OTDIF & FTR targets are met

- Manages, and provides portfolio health and delivery status updates to internal / external customers on all projects

- Engages with customers at every stage of project lifecycle - from presales, to delivery, to sustenance

- Develops detailed project governance and tracking mechanism & champions its implementation across the portfolio of Industrial IOT internal and external projects

People development: 

- Responsible for people development initiatives and building in-house capabilities for associates in the function

- Hiring the right set of talents with appropriate skill sets and competencies and ensure career growth for them

- Identify & develop technology service execution partner ecosystem

Key Competencies Required:

Technical:

- Worked on at least 5 Major Research and Technology-based projects covering all aspects of lifecycle.

- Preferred work experience in areas related to manufacturing operations control/ automation/analytics.

- In-depth understanding of SDLC. Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies of project management is a must including PMP/ Six Sigma Certification

- Knowledge of hardware, automation and manufacturing related entities is a must.

- Experience or understanding of scalable infrastructure for a service-oriented architecture

- Experience with a cloud platform such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure, ThingWorx

- Familiarity with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms and delivery model.

Managerial:

- Should have strong experience in leading teams for New Product Development & Introduction, and implementations for end customers

- Should have good knowledge with managerial tools such as Microsoft Projects. Should maintain team progress and utilize WBS and Gantt charts, and defect management tools for governance

- Strong collaboration, communication, presentation and team management skills

- A demonstrated track record of leading a medium to large-scale - program-, demonstrating multi functional skills to make it successful

Performance Measurement:

- Program level - Planned vs. Actual- Key Performance Indicators - Schedule, Quality & Cost Customer Satisfaction (CSAT)

- Risk Management at program & project level
