Job Title: Senior Program Manager  Location: Bangalore  Reporting to: Chief Strategy and Programs Officer  SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER- JOB DESCRIPTION  Overview  The Senior Program Manager manages an area of intervention for the APPI by leading a team of Program Managers and Program Officers who work at the theme and portfolio level respectively in delivering grants for the APPI. The Senior Program Manager shapes the social change discourse and narrative for the theme. The incumbent will have complete accountability for a large potfolio/s and multiple grants that ensure the achievement of a stated Theory of Change. The Senior Program Manager is expected to develop and maintain a variety of relationships across the organisation and with grantees.  Responsibilities  Leadership and Theory of Change  - Manage the performance of a group of Program Managers and Officers as they make grants to organizations in achieving a stated social objective.  - By exception, manage the disbursal of larger and high impact grants within the organization. These may happen sometimes in an individual capacity.  - Lead the APPI research around the area that the person is responsible for.  - Network with think tanks and civil society organizations in order to further APPI's understanding of an area.  - Consult with nonprofit organizations regarding specific grant proposals to ensure that the proposal meets APPI guidelines and requirements, and is a well drafted request, complete in all aspects.  - Work with other parts of the organization in order to agree and ensure delivery of grantee organizational development plans.  Grant opportunity and disbursement  - Review all completed proposals to ensure that required information has been provided. Ensure that the story of the grantee organization comes through clearly.  - As appropriate, conduct site visits and participate in interviews for each assigned proposal.  - Help the partner develop results frameworks and ensure that the thinking around the results framework is in keeping with the APPI operating plan  - Conduct meaningful conversations with all grantees that validate their results framework/s for review and action by the Board.  - Post approval, provide leadership to working with the finance team and the grantees to ensure that the financial resources of the APPI reach them in time.  - Ensure compliance to the grant making system at the APPI through the entire lifecycle of a grant.  Learning and Reflection  - Report out on learning and reflection at an area level and make sure that the process is beneficial to grantees and the APPI.  Qualifications  - Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred  - Twelve to fifteen years of work experience, either in a field operations role or work experience with a grantmaker  - Should have made significant and long lasting contributions in his/her area of specialization.  - Should have lead teams and have had accountability for large goals in his/her previous assignments  - Grant-making experience strongly preferred; desire to work in and with nonprofit sector is essential  - Strong leadership,interpersonal and collaboration skills; proven ability to be flexible in a team-oriented approach with diverse groups of people  - Should have proven leadership and enrolment skills and be comfortable in a consensus based environment  Interested candidates can send in their CVs with the subject line indicating - Senior Program Manager- or contact us at Tel:+91 2243493333.
