Senior Professional - Litigation - Real Estate

- Co-develop along with Head Legal, strategies to manage litigation effectively so as to minimize exposure of Sattva to claims

- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with recognized external advocates from a long-term perspective to ensure cost effective and preferential services

- Enable timely resolution of all litigations on behalf of the Company

- Ensure timely response to legal notices received from Courts; coordinate with external Legal Councils/Firms for validation of response to minimize risks

- Identify competent external Legal Counsels/Firms and provide inputs to the Department Head for their selection for managing all litigations (Land, Consumer, Criminal etc.) on behalf of Sattva

- Ensure timely preparation of briefs and conduct sessions for the LegalCounsels/Firms to brief them appropriately on the status of the case/case history etc.

- Ensure timely provision of all supporting documents as may be required by external Legal Counsels/Firms from time to time; coordinate with relevant internal Departments to collect relevant documents/proofs

- Coordinate with external Legal Counsels/Firms to draft notices to be filed in Courts on behalf of Sattva

- Ensure presence of a representative of the Organization throughout the court hearings; ensure involvement of Department Head in case of very high priority cases

- Oversee the progress of land related legal cases in courts and solicit periodic updates on the same

- Oversee coordination with local police stations for resolution of complaints and FIRs (if any)

- Ensure comprehensive maintenance of all documentation related to litigations

- Ensure timely preparation and submission of MIS/status updates on litigation related activities

- Adhere to the established Department SOPs

- Aid cost-effective resolution of litigations on behalf of Sattva; identify avenues through dialogues and out-of-court settlements with the aggrieved parties

- Derive cost savings by conducting effective negotiations with external Legal Counsels/Firms

- Ensure minimal cost escalations from the planned budget for litigation activities undertaken

- Provide inputs in formulation of departmental budget and ensure adherence to the same

- Foster an environment of learning, excellence and innovation within all aspects of team work

- Undertake performance management for self

- Adhere to training calendar for self and take initiatives to develop self capabilities

- Preparation of brief for external Legal Counsels/Firms

- Provision of documents/proofs requested by external Legal Counsels/Firms

- Number of court cases pending beyond a preset timeline

- Resolution of complaints/FIR in Police Station/ percentage cases escalated to court cases
