Sr Manager, Reverse Logistics DESCRIPTION : - The role holder is the primary leader in India for Customer Returns Experience and Reverse Logistics, with direct ownership of Cost of Business Waste and matrix responsibility for influencing returns experience for the customer. - The cost of business waste (CBW) is the single largest operational cost line in the P&amp;L after Ship COGS. As the leader for CBW, the person is responsible for reducing business waste across 4 key areas - (i) Reject (ii) Returns (iii) Network Losses (iv) Sellability yield. The leader owns the first 2 areas directly (Rejects and Returns) and influences the other 2 (network losses and sellability). - As part of the matrix ownership of customer returns experience, the person is responsible for influencing both product features and programs to improve the return experience for a customer. This would span across 3 broad areas - (i) return initiation experience (ii) return pick up experience (iii) refund experience. The key metrics would be return related contact rate, door step pick up coverage, pick up success rate, refund cycle time (measured as the time it takes for the refund to show in customer's bank/wallet from the time the return was initiated). - As leader of this team, you will play the role of a thinker and an implementer in equal measure - the success in this role is as much about implementing as it is about conceptualizing or strategizing. You will be expected to define a problem, trade-offs, execution plan and then lead it through the execution stages. What is can you expect from the Role? - Work on initiatives that will cut across different businesses (Appliances to apparel to food) - Mix of short term projects with quick turn-around and some long term projects that would possibly redefine the way business is done going forward - Projects will be a mix of defect reduction - cost improvement, efficiency initiatives OR customer delight ; improving selection, replication and speed OR pricing - Cross category and cross functional initiatives that will require active engagement with multiple stakeholders - Category managers, Operations, transport, Machine learning, Abuse, Seller services. - Significant exposure and engagement with senior leadership What is expected from the individual? 1. Ability to work with large data, dive-deep, identify issues 2. Influence Others: Every big decision you make will involve a conflict - ability to visualize the conflict, addressing the parties involved and making balanced decisions 3. Ability to take complete end to end ownership of an initiative till execution; subsequently setting up processes for operating teams seamlessly take over and execute on a daily basi 4. Ability to define project deliverables, timelines and set up mechanisms to track inputs and outputs for the projects; strong communication skills 5. Strong business instincts to identify waste in the system, Ability to put structure around ambiguous problems, conceptualize the solution and break the solution into phased deliverables. 6. Proven ability to lead a team - The candidate is expected to have 8+ years of experience post MBA. Experience in operations or supply chain, category management OR program management will be preferred BASIC QUALIFICATIONS : - 5+ years in program management, operations/supply chain or category management - Proven track record of owning and delivering projects/programs - Proven track record of working with cross category stakeholders. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - MBA degree - 10+ years of experience - Experience in operations or supply chain, category management OR program management will be preferred
