Job Purpose:

- Drive building Sony's corporate reputation and consumer profile to encourage advocacy, sales and revenue in the market from 2 aspects :

- External Communications (Traditional Media & Social Media)

Internal Communications :

- Plan a comprehensive product and corporate PR program for Sony's strategic priorities, products and services that target defined end users and consumers in their market.

- Monitor while implementing Sony India strategic PR plans across categories in their market, creating priority local PR activity, building key specialist and consumer media relationships, looking after relevant budgets and ensuring positive ROI on all PR activities.

Key Responsibilities & Scope for Decision Making :

1. External Communication Mgmt. (Traditional Media)

- Quantitative & Qualitative KPI Achievement

- Timely Press Release/Press Note Mgmt.

- Award Winning Mgmt.

- Event Wow/KPI Mgmt.

- Quantitative & Qualitative KPI Define/Achieve

- Geo-coverage, New Scope Define (Branding etc.)

- Risk/Crisis Mgmt.

2. External Communication Mgmt. (Social Media) :

- P/F selection & Usage GL

- Instagram Wow stabilize (incl. KPI)

- YouTube Wow stabilize (incl. KPI)

- Risk/Crisis Mgmt.

3. Internal Communication Mgmt. (vs Social Media) :

- Existing Scope Clarity vs HR

- New Scope Define (CEO Townhall, Newsletter etc.)

- Internal Conference/Event Mgmt.

4. Common :

- A&P Mgmt. (Financial Investment)

- Amplification of PR Deliverables

- Structure Setup & Resource Assign (Team Mgmt.)

B. General Points :

- Directly responsible for leading effective PR delivery in Indian market in the most customer-focused and relevant way to communicate Sony's strategic vision and networked entertainment story.

- Proactively contributing to Sony India communications thinking and planning

- Where relevant - taking the lead on Indian launch campaigns or issues

- Leading delivery of Indian PR initiatives, corporate and consumer, in their market

- Leading national media delegations to Tokyo when relevant

- Ensuring that Indian PR media plans and events are prioritized and complimentary to operational sales and marketing activity through collaboration with S & M platform colleagues.

- Building relations with Sony sister companies in their market to leverage opportunities and events

- Identifying and establishing relationships with priority stakeholders and opinion formers to build Sony's corporate reputation and advocacy for the company in the market

- Identifying relevant platforms/events/conferences etc in their market where Sony personnel could contribute and build positive support

- Taking the lead to build relationships directly with a network of specialist and consumer media, converting complex information into relevant media issues, reflecting the global and local/national priorities for Sony

- Proactively contribute to the annual process of planning and budgeting establishing the budgets and scope for investment in PR activities in country

- Ensure corporate and product PR campaigns and activity deliver the Sony proposition accurately and positively to the media and to different stakeholders, in line with Sony quality and brand DNA guidelines.

- Managing to the agreed budget and timelines

- Ensuring PR effectiveness is measured and communicated to demonstrate

ROI :

- Managing relations with external agencies, industry associations and media Representatives.

- Identify the Sony spokespeople for the country and take responsibility for presentation and media training

- Managing and developing their team (where relevant), demonstrating best PR and management practice

- Close collaboration with Internal Communications colleagues to identify stories and activity that bring Sony's purpose, values and - Shaping Our Future- change program to life

- Budget responsibility & financial dimensions: Budget currently set in country from A&P or SGA

- Work in our Head office in Delhi with occasional travels to other Branches/Regions in India. (sometimes requiring overseas travel to Singapore or Japan)

Qualifications & Experience:

- Graduate/PostGraduate level - with languages including excellent spoken and written English and Hindi

- Native speaker of Hindi with one or more local languages preferred.

- Additional professional training or equivalent qualifications

- Extensive direct relationships with consumer, technical and corporate business media in the market.

- Successful product and stakeholder PR news planning, events management and campaign delivery

- Advising at a senior executive level and managing multiple internal stakeholders

- Managing key opinion formers and stakeholder engagement programs

- Strong understanding of social media as a communications tool

- Hands on crisis and issues management

- Briefing and managing PR agencies and advisors in a timely and cost-effective way

- Managing small teams and clearly assigning priority activity

- Experience to understand the unpredictability of the job and the flexibility required

- 10-15 years of intensive experience in Communication/PR industry, experience in CAV industry preferred but not mandatory.
