Expertise in application of mix models, attribution analytics, performance measurements and creation of standardized product to for data science as well as data foundation through application of Data science, advanced analytics and data management skills
Functional Responsibilities
- Build media performance measurement strategies: Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to create capabilities, tools and processes to drive best in-class efficiency, effectiveness & sufficiency
Responsibilities on Product Development
a. Building new automated data science products around market mix models
i. Create new UI based data science product to bring in standardization and efficiency in model building process by cutting down time to model creation
ii. Creation and maintenance of user friendly simulators, optimizers, dashboards to help business in various scenario planning enables by market mix models
b. Maintenance and standardization of exisiting marketing mix models across markets
i. Standardization and modularization of already existing R and Python codes
ii. Maintain and develop coding standards
iii. Documentation and development of play books
c. Creating and maintaining yearly/half yearly calendar of measurement product delivery and ensure timely build and updation of the platform so that it can help in timely business decisions
- Data engineering responsibility- Guide data engineering team in laying out roadmap for data foundation
a. Guide data engineers to build data systems and pipelines as per business needs and objectives, in this case prepare data to feed specifically to MMM and media measurement models or any descriptive or prescriptive analysis
- Actively scout new partnerships, concepts, and technologies that can be scaled across portfolio
- Establish process to ensure data consistency globally to support common standards and analytics;
- Partner with functional teams, agencies and third parties to build seamless process for acquiring, tagging, cataloging and managing all media, Nielsen and internal data periodically in structured format as needed for measurement statistical models
- Build strong relationships with key business partners
- Engage in R&D to try new modeling techniques to ensure faster and better answers to business problems
People and Project Management Responsibilities
- Leading a team of 3-4 Data Engineers, data scientists and product engineers
- Develop new skillsets among team members related to advanced analytics by conducting training and period review
- Promotes cross functional (Media COE and market insights and category teams) seamless communication, sharing know how and creating same quality of experience across sector markets
Skills/ Experience:
- 7-9 years of experience in the field of analytics, who had been hands on data scientist with focus on product development till recently
- Design minded, thinks about the user experience.
- Experience either in boutique analytics consulting or Captive analytics teams
- Have been hands-on modeler in the past specifically in market mix/attribution modeling, CPG domain preferred.
- Exposure and understanding in the field of data structures, building and managing data lakes like SQL database design, technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, SQL, NoSql, Teradattaetc
- Ability in managing and communicating data warehouse plans to internal clients
- Working knowledge of tools like R, R-shiny, Python, JAVA, VBA, SQL, MS Excel
- Experience in translating business problem into analytics framework and vice versa
- Experience in leading mid-sized teams of data scientists and modelers
- Understanding of statistical techniques and modeling process
- Educational Background- BE/B TECH/ MSC Economics or Statistics/ MS in computer science or equivalent degree, MBA preferred for Analytics translator
