Senior Manager - Procurement - Raw Material & Packaging Material - FMCG/Beverages

Currently we are hiring as Sr Manager Procurement (RM/PM)

Industry: FMCG/ Foods/ Beverages.

Job Description:

- As a Procurement Manager for Raw Materials & Packaging materials, you will be responsible for sourcing of raw materials and packaging material required to produce beverages.

- Raw materials consist of fruit pulps, flavours, stabilizers, preservatives, sugar etc.

- Packaging Material includes Flexible pouches, IM caps, preforms, cartons, labels etc. Your role will involve developing and executing procurement strategies, conducting cost sheet lead RFQs, negotiating with suppliers and closing annual contracts.

- Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to work on new product development, cost optimization projects and ensure material availability. You will also work on ensuring commercial compliance for the function.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Material Sourcing Strategy: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for raw materials and packaging materials. Perform spend analysis, conduct market & competition analysis, understand business needs, and formulate sourcing strategy for that category.

2. Ensuring material availability across company plants by working closely with suppliers, planner, and factories.

3. Supplier Evaluation and Selection: Evaluate potential suppliers based on their track records, product quality and price.

4. Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate best terms and conditions with suppliers through cost sheet lead RFQ events. Draft, review, and manage contracts to ensure they align with company policies.

5. Inventory Planning and Management: Collaborate with planning and production teams to forecast raw material requirements accurately. Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet production schedules while minimizing holding costs and wastage.

6. Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that materials meet the required quality and safety standards.

7. Cost Optimization: Continuously monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to identify cost-saving opportunities. Implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining the highest level of product quality.

8. Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate potential supply chain risks, such as shortages, transportation disruptions, or supplier issues. Develop contingency plans to maintain a stable supply of raw materials.

9. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Promote sustainable and responsible sourcing practices within the supply chain.

10. Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize procurement software and tools to gather and analyse data related to procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost metrics. Prepare regular reports for management to aid in decision-making.

11. Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate strong and productive relationships with suppliers to foster long-term partnerships. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and address any issues or concerns promptly.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- MBA from Tier 1 institute; preferably in Supply Chain Management

- experience in procurement, preferably within beverages or FMCG industry.

- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.

- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
