Senior Manager - Procurement - Ceramics/Chemical/Paints

Role & responsibilities :

Purpose :

- This position is primarily responsible for sourcing of directly purchased materials (other than globally sourced materials services & engineering components/equipment used in plants. Sourcing process includes vendor selection, quality approvals & finalization of commercial terms.

- The position is also responsible to lead vendor management system along with Quality team, which includes regular assessment, problem resolution & continuous improvement on key deliverables (delivery, quality & cost). This position is responsible to identify new supplier to improve competitiveness in our business. This position along with Manufacturing team, will be responsible for on-time material availability & inventory management. Also, to oversee import handling formalities managed by CHA (customs house agent) .

Key Result Areas :

- Tendering/competitive quotes on regular basis, as applicable, for raw materials, ancillary/materials, packaging materials, engineering components & services/contracts

- Capex item negotiation & vendor selection

- Negotiation of price, delivery norms & payment terms for locally purchase materials & services.

- Manage overall supply chain of Raw Materials & key services

- Vendor Management System SCARs- supplier corrective action request & Assessment

- Adherence to Purchasing process & policies specification sign-off.

- Development of alternate supplies for higher efficiency materials & services

Preferred candidate profile :

- B.E- B.Tech in Ceramics Engineering / Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in procurement function. The candidate should have extensive experience in handling raw materials.

- Preferred industry : Ceramics /Chemical /Paint / Good Manufacturing industry with Chemical Procurement experience.
