Senior Manager - Medical Underwriting - Health Insurance

Client is a leading Stand Alone Health Insurance company.

Designation : Senior Manager - Medical Underwriting (reporting to AVP - Underwriting)

Location : Gurgaon

Primary Role Description

Managing the entire team of medical underwriting &; will be involved in strategy building &; responsible for implementation for the said vertical.

Key Roles &; Responsibilities:

1) People Management:

- Management of Underwriting team.

- Value and environment creation

- Work appraisals and growth of team

- Training, Coaching & Mentoring.

- Maintaining & evaluation of work.

- Conflict resolution.

- Attrition management.

2) Process Management:

- Formulation of product specific risk evaluation &; mitigation guidelines.

- Evaluation of prevail underwriting practices & market comparison & analysis of data to help revise UW guidelines.

- Approval & processing high value prospects.

- Alignment with cross functional key opinion holders.

- Own interdepartmental queries & issues management/resolution.

- Intra department audits/ error rates.

- Owner of departmental audit and responsible for resolution and of process adherence.

3) Cost Management:

- Minimize operational cost

- Automation of process.

4) Project Management:

- Project planning & execution.

- Stakeholder identification, alignment & timely updates.

5) Managing health advisor as well as other partners involved in sourcing.

6) Responsibility & authority holder for approvals &; non-financial deviations.

7) Branch visit & advisor interaction as well as interface for underwriting representation.

8) Map & maintain SLA(Service Level Agreement) & TATs (Turn Around Times).

9) Owner of underwriting system & rules integrated with sourcing interfaces.

10) Owner of UAT (User Acceptance Testing).

11) Key opinion holder for cross functional alignment & projects.
