Leading Indian Conglomerate is looking for a Senior Manager - Market Research & Customer Insight based at Chennai. Candidate should be an Engineer from a reputed institution with an MBA / PGDM.

Should have at least 10-16 years experience in market research organisations or as a Market Research Manager in the marketing function of a leading company in FMCG/Consumer durable/Automobiles or BFSI/Telecom domains responsible for business Intelligence and customer Insights.

Goals:

- To understand the nuances of a given customer segment and help provide insights on the potential and addressable market, insights on the established and niche competitors, their strategies and marketing moves.

- Providing actionable business insights and market forecasting using the secondary research methods ( Qualitative and Quantitative) & data analysis techniques that will help position the company strongly vis-a-vis competition.

- Connect with business to identify key competitors in verticals/segments/geographies and derive intelligence on product portfolio & service related matters through bespoke, syndicated and dipstick studies as warranted.

- Help pre-test Creative copy and do post tests for DAR/ Memorability and Comprehension for the company's advertising.

Activities:

- To provide market/competitive data, information, and analysis to stakeholders to enable them to conduct opportunity assessment, business planning, monitoring growth and supporting field sales teams.

- Scanning available MR Data / reports to identify the need for further research and if so required define the problem in an actionable manner by commissioning quantitative/qualitative market research to provide market intelligence/ insights.

- To understand research objectives and accordingly design research plans, work approach, project scope and timelines either on the Web or with specialised MR agencies.

- To deliver new insights about customers and clearly communicate these to business partners, analyze research findings and deploy learnings.

- To collaborate with Product Mangers and business partners such as advertising, digital marketing and direct marketing agencies to help them test copy etc and define what actions should result from the insights/learnings so gathered.

- Total Knowledge Management i.e. maintaining the existing body of knowledge of the market and the consumer from earlier studies done and appending the new study to the existing database for easy access to all stakeholders.

- Coordinating with commercial for timely commissioning of study, fieldwork and report presentation in line with sanctioned budgets.

Skills:

- Ability to deploy and adapt Quantitative and Qualitative research techniques for specific internal business requirements.

- Exposure to Data analytics with hands on experience in Research Design

- Extensive working knowledge in Research Planning, Sampling Design, Questionnaire Construction, Market Research Program Management and relevant Statistical tools/ techniques.

- Understanding and leveraging different internal and external sources of customer data capture / listening posts and databases and to carry out dipstick research as necessary.

- Ability to identify important insights and use them as the basis for compelling, actionable recommendations.

- Working knowledge of statistical tools like SPSS, Minitab and Survey Monkey and other online tools.

- Ability to manage a budget efficiently and meet research objectives in time
